Bolstering its presence in the regulated European landscape, Wazdan has signed an integration deal with the Napoleon Sports & Casino.

Under the terms of the partnership, the Belgian operator will gain access to a number of the game provider’s titles, including Sun of Fortune, Magic Fruits Deluxe and Sizzling Moon.

Andrzej Hyla, Chief Commercial Officer at Wazdan, said: “As it’s our aim to grow with partners whose values and goals reflect our own, we are delighted to expand our operations in Belgium with Napoleon Sports & Casino.

“The brand has an in-depth understanding of its customer base, and we can’t wait to see how their players react to our games.”

Currently powering the Grand in Knokke as well as 25 arcades throughout Belgium, Napoleon Sports & Casino will also see the release of the provider’s latest title, 9 Coins.

“I’m very excited to have Wazdan added to our portfolio,” added Melissa Deboelpaep, Gaming Content Manager at Napoleon Sports & Casino. “We try to keep innovating and improving our content so players have the best entertainment in a safe and protected environment. Wazdan is a great addition to this.”

“Together with Wazdan, we’re sure we can offer players an unforgettable experience.”

Wazdan’s continued commercial expansion in the European market coincides with its growth across the MGA jurisdiction, after recently also partnering with igaming operator, PressEnter Group, which saw its complete portfolio of products become available across the group’s brands.

Casinos using iGaming Group’s white label solutions are set to be the first in the industry to access Play’n GO’s ocean-themed blockbuster title, Mega Don.

With the ‘shark-infested’ slot having gone live across 35 multi-licensed sites on an exclusive basis for one month, it joins a growing list of Play’n GO games available with iGaming Group, including Book of Dead and the Reactoonz series, as well content from a string of other studios.

“We always strive to get the best promotions and exclusives for our casino sites” noted Phil Pearson, COO of iGaming Group White Labels. “Partnering with Play’n GO is very exciting because they come equipped with a great slot catalogue and continue to be in the top two providers list, in almost every market.

“While I’m sad Mega Don isn’t a slot about an overly large mafia lord who eats people, or a story about the rise of Don Cheadle, or a slot only about Donald Trump’s appendage, we think it will perform very well.”

The title comes with up to 1,024 ways to win, a pay-out potential of up to x10,000 the player’s bet, and a host of high-paying and upgrade symbols.

“Mega Don is a mix of brilliant features, exciting game play and nostalgic entertainment, which will entice and engage players in equal measure,” added Charlotte Miliziano, Head of Games at Play’n GO.

“We’re keen to see how it performs with iGG’s partners in the coming weeks and look forward to further mutually beneficial collaborations in the future.”

Nuvei Corporation and GAN have formed a strategic alliance to give gaming operators access to the former’s payment solutions.

By integrating the payments platform’s full suite of solutions with GAN’s software-as-a-service gaming platform technology, players will be able to instantly deposit and request instant payouts using its cashier technology.

“We’re pleased to be partnering with Nuvei to bring such an exciting solution to the North American gaming industry,” said Don Ryan, President of Enterprise Solutions for GAN.

“GAN and Nuvei have strong reputations for delivering best-in-class solutions for operators. This strategic partnership takes our combined proposition to the next level.”

Including multiple regional and alternative payment methods in addition to cards – such as Interac and digital wallets – the partnership follows the launch of the regulated gaming market in Ontario earlier this year, and is now being extended to support operators across the US and Canada.

“Offering gaming operators a fully customisable payments platform, including local acquiring solutions and a full suite of payment methods through a single integration, is at the heart of our vision for the future of payments in both gaming and broader verticals,” added Philip Fayer, CEO & Chair of Nuvei.

“Being able to partner with GAN to bring this vision to North American operators is a great step forward for an industry poised for further significant growth in the next few years. GAN is renowned throughout gaming for its market-leading software, which is why we believe this is such an exciting partnership.”

The announcement is the latest from Nuvei as it aims to continue to solidify its position as the payment technology partner of choice for gaming, fantasy sports, and sports betting brands in regulated markets across the globe.

After receiving requests from players on the Casinomeister platform to bring 4ThePlayer games to L&L Group casinos, the slots supplier and UK-based brand have formed a partnership.

Under the terms of the alliance, the first game to become available L&L’s UK brand will be 4ThePlayer’s first-ever title, 9k Yeti, followed by 6 Wild Sharks and 3 Secret Cities.

Jan Wienk, Marketing Manager at L&L Europe, explained: “I remember the first time I played 9k Yeti – I really enjoyed a balanced, base game with good pay-out potential, combined with a feature that holds huge pay-out potential.

“That was my first experience with 4ThePlayer. When players kept on asking for the games, it was of course a no-brainer.”

The games will initially go live at L&L’s UK brand, followed by a multiple regulated jurisdiction rollout.

“We are delighted players are requesting our games and driving opportunities like this,” added Henry McLean, co-founder and Commercial and Marketing Director at 4ThePlayer.

“After speaking to L&L, their fun and player-centric principles really align with ours, so we cannot wait for their players to be able to enjoy the 4ThePlayer experience.”

McLean recently spoke to SlotBeats to discuss the growing trend of fishing-themed slots, why only recently are studios delving into this genre, how to truly innovate with this game-type, what markets are experiencing a strong performance of this theme and how far its reach can extend.

Legislative leaders have reached a deal for the State of Michigan’s Fiscal Year 2023 budget that will include $7m in additional funding for the Michigan Gaming Control Board. This now heads to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s desk to await signature, and is expected to take effect October 1.

According to the board, the funding will support “a comprehensive responsible gaming messaging campaign, direct citizens to services available for problem gambling, and extend our outreach to community organisations.”

The State of Michigan’s Fiscal Year 2023 budget is said to create “a stable funding source for charitable gaming millionaire party events”, which will address capital concerns and ensure the MGCB can continue its current level of service to charities without any increase in licensing fees.

Additional funding was approved for new MGCB positions and IT infrastructure to “assist with the surge of higher-than-expected internet gaming activity, internet sports betting, and fantasy contests”.

This, it is added, will increase network storage capacity and network speeds in MGCB casino offices to support operations, including the transfer of large regulatory files.

“I would like to thank Governor Whitmer and the legislature for their leadership and a budget deal that recognises the crucial role the MGCB plays in ensuring fair and honest gaming in the State of Michigan,” stated MGCB Executive Director, Henry Williams.

“Our 2023 budget emphasises investments to help strengthen our mission and integrity, support local charities, and educate Michigan citizens on ways to enjoy gaming responsibly.

“The Michigan Gaming Control Board shall ensure the conduct of fair and honest gaming to protect the interests of the citizens of the State of Michigan.”

Tech firm OPTX has inked a deal with the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino to bring its full suite of player development, slots and marketing tools to the establishment.

With a focus on streamlining casino player data into real-time insights for casino operators, OPTX – which was founded by former casino operators – will provide a tool that will be utilised across multiple departments to create a single source of data for multiple systems within the property.

Tyson Harding, Vice President of Casino Marketing at Westgate, remarked: “Westgate was looking for a solution to bring multiple layers of operations into one view in real-time and we found that with OPTX.

“We were seeking a solution that not only helped solve our day-to-day challenges but one that also looks to introduce new features and functionality at a rapid pace to keep up with the ever-changing industry. We are excited to partner with OPTX.”

Starting with the slot department, this “will have seamless functionality” to navigate from slot and property KPIs down to individual machine and player preferences, while player development will involve a real-time tool that allows the casino to engage with guests, identify opportunities, and grow their books of business, all while streamlining day-to-day operational tasks across the gaming floor.

Furthermore, marketing teams will have the ability to introduce “complex and automated marketing campaigns functionally” which will “increase the precision and effectiveness” of their marketing spend.

Brooke Fiumara, Co-CEO of OPTX, added: “Westgate selecting OPTX for its property business intelligence platform demonstrates the continued value operators place on our mission of creating the next generation of casino operations.

“Property leaders are seeking a single platform solution that doesn’t just present data, it provides the functionality for operators to use it. We are confident OPTX will continue to meet the dynamic needs of Westgate.”

Betfred Sports has combined forces with Long Shot’s of Frederick, Maryland, to bring retail and online sports betting to the state, pending regulatory approval.

The link-up will see a temporary 8,800 square foot retail sportsbook adjacent to the Maryland Jockey Club‘s off-track betting within Long Shot’s for the 2022 football season, with a video wall and “theatre-style” seating set to open just after the first of the year.

“We were at the forefront of bringing sports betting to Maryland and specifically to Frederick,” stated Long Shot’s CEO, Alyse Cohen. “We are thrilled to open a sportsbook at Long Shot’s in partnership with Betfred Sports.”

“We are proud that Long Shot’s is one of the premier off-track betting locations in the State and we look forward to achieving similar success with sports wagering. Long Shot’s will not only boost the local economy but contribute to enhancing the education of our students.”

The temporary sportsbook, scheduled to open in September pending regulatory approval, will consist of in-person betting windows and self-serve betting kiosks. Online betting will also be launched when formally permitted by state regulators.

Bryan Bennett, Betfred Sports Chief Operating Officer, added: “We identified Long Shot’s very early when searching for a Maryland partner.

“When combining Betfred’s 50 years of bookmaking experience and Long Shot’s success with off-track betting, we believe this will be a formidable partnership to compete in the Maryland sports betting space.”

The Seimas of Lithuania has approved amendments to the national Gambling Law and the Lottery & Gaming Tax Law, seeing domiciled requirements for remote operators dropped.

Continuing to reform the Baltic state’s gambling laws, amendments will see the Lithuania Gambling Control Authority introduce a new type of remote gambling licence, which is required in order for the Government to separate remote gambling requirements from rules applied for land-based businesses.

Under existing laws, gambling enterprises require municipal approval for licences that have been granted to firms with established and operating land-based venues, but a designated licence for remote operators will waive the requirement to have a domiciled business presence in Lithuania.

The amendment read: “The organisation of remote gambling, unlike land-based gambling, is not related to their execution in a specific territory (municipality), that is, remote gambling is carried out online throughout the territory of the Republic of Lithuania.

“Therefore it is not appropriate to require the consent of the municipality when issuing a permit for remote gambling.”

Businesses operating under existing online Gambling Law licences have been given a two-year timeframe within which to transfer to a specific remote licence.

Amendments to the Lottery & Tax Law, on the other hand, saw the Seimas approve a new licensing fee framework that will charge remote operators a one-off fee of €500,000, while operators that have a land-based and remote presence will be charged  €1m.
