Play’n GO has announced it has secured a Delaware license, bringing the company’s total number of US licenses up to six.

It will enter the market through Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers brand.

The company now boasts licenses in Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. It has been active in the United States of America since 2022.

Anna Mackney, US Head of Region at Play’n GO commented: “It’s fantastic to begin the year by adding yet another new regulated market in the US, this time in the shape of Delaware. Our expansion into the state marks yet another significant step in our US growth strategy. Play’n GO continues to lead the charge in regulated markets, and we are committed to delivering our premium content to players across the country.”

She continued: “We’ve already established an excellent relationship with Rush Street Interactive across the United States, and we are confident that our partnership will continue to be mutually beneficial to both businesses as we enter yet another new market together. US players have clearly demonstrated their demand for our games, and we will continue to deliver.”

After adding Delaware to its string of licenses, Play’n GO is now licensed in every State with a regulated and active iGaming market in the country.

Delaware’s iGaming Market: A Small but Growing Sector

Delaware’s iGaming market is small compared to other states where online casinos are legal. According to the American Gaming Association’s State of States 2024, traditional land-based casino games accounted for more than 95 percent of total casino gaming revenue in Delaware in 2023.

Total statewide revenue from electronic gaming devices was $424.7 million in 2023, up 4.8 percent against 2022. Online casino revenue was up 3.3 percent but reached only $14.1 million.

The Delaware gambling tax structure sees commercial casinos subject to approximately 56 percent of gross revenue in electronic gaming device tax and 20 percent on gross table game revenue. This tax structure for iGaming offerings is “roughly the same” as the structure applied to equivalent games in racinos.

Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers launched its poker platform late last year, claiming to offer “among the lowest rake” of competitors. The product was designed with players in mind and launched in partnership with professional player Phil Galfond.

Upon release, the operator stated that Galfond had brought “invaluable insight” to ensure that the product is “finely tuned to meet the needs of poker players at every level.”

“We are confident that the live dealer online casino will be very popular as the live dealer games offer the same level of excitement as playing in a land-based casino. This launch reinforces BetRivers’ commitment to offer Delaware online players the best mix of innovative and entertaining games available.”

Evolution also has a slots partnership in Delaware with RSI’s BetRivers platform and the Delaware Lottery, bringing online slots from its NetEnt, Red Tiger and Big Time Gaming brands to players in the First State.

Jacob Claesson, Evolution CEO for North America, added: “We are delighted to partner again with Rush Street Interactive for another momentous launch in Delaware.

Claesson continued: “Delaware is our sixth US state and this live games launch further reinforces our standing as the market leader in online gaming in the US. We are confident that Delaware’s online players at BetRivers will absolutely love the quality and extended choice.

Hacksaw Gaming and Rush Street Interactive have extended their North American partnership to New Jersey, with Hacksaw slots gaining increased visibility in the state via RSI’s BetRivers brand.

The move signals the fourth region included in the ongoing collaboration, with RSI already having taken Hacksaw Gaming’s slot content live in Mexico, Ontario and West Virginia last year via integrations facilitated by Light & Wonder.

Marcus Cordes, CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, stated: “We are delighted to announce another successful launch with Rush Street Interactive. Securing New Jersey, a highly significant jurisdiction and pioneer on the American igaming front, should add to the already proven insightful and triumphant venture.”

This extension of the slot studio’s deal with RSI will see an initial batch of slot releases taken live on BetRivers’ online casino platform, including Chaos Crew, Om Nom and Stack’em, among others.

Furthermore, the partnership has revealed that a ‘wider selection’ of Hacksaw Gaming slots will be made available to BetRivers’ Garden State players ‘over the next upcoming months’.

Hacksaw gained approval to supply its slot releases in the state of New Jersey towards the end of last year, receiving a provisional licence

Richard Schwartz, Rush Street Interactive’s CEO, added: “We are so pleased to extend our partnership with Hacksaw Gaming into New Jersey, following our successful launches with them in Mexico, Ontario and West Virginia.”

Rush Street Interactive is powering online casino and sportsbook platforms in the US state of Delaware with the Delaware Lottery for an initial five-year period.

RSI’s BetRivers brand will revamp Delaware’s three online casinos – Delaware Park, Bally’s Dover Casino and Harrington Raceway & Casino – bringing new games to customers in the First State via mobile and desktop.

The Delaware Park and Harrington Casino & Raceway sites are accessible through the BetRivers multi-state app and website, while Bally’s Dover Casino is available through its standalone app and website.

“We are thrilled to begin this historic and much-anticipated launch of the new online sportsbook and casino with the Delaware Lottery and bring our award-winning product to Delaware,” commented Richard Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer of RSI.

“With our extensive offering of gaming content, a wide range of deposit and withdrawal methods, real-time cash-out approvals, and best-in-class customer service, Delaware customers are going to love the convenience of wagering on their favourite sports, slots, and table games from anywhere in the state.”

Available via website and app, the launch of BetRivers online sportsbook in the state builds off the back of a soft launch which took place on December 27, offering a variety of wagering options across professional and collegiate sports including spreads, moneylines, player props, futures and same game parlays.

Helene Keeley, Director of the Delaware Lottery, noted: “RSI’s successes in other jurisdictions, including neighbouring New Jersey and Pennsylvania, are impressive, along with the company’s overall reputation and experience.

“RSI’s commitment to responsible gaming, quality products, breadth of gaming content and customer service are key reasons we are so excited to partner with them.”

Although beginning as a five-year partnership, Delaware has the option to extend the deal with RSI should it wish to do so.

Schwartz added: “We are honoured to collaborate with the Delaware Lottery team and the state’s three casinos to offer consumers in Delaware a safe, convenient, and innovative online entertainment experience.

“The launch into Delaware builds on our proven track record of success in the Mid-Atlantic Region of Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey, where RSI has shown that online casinos and sportsbooks complement each other, and we continue to set new records.”

Intrastate igaming has been available in Delaware since 2013 when the Delaware Gaming Competitiveness Act of 2012 was passed by the state’s general assembly, ushering in online slots, blackjack and video poker.

Keeley concluded: “We have no doubt that Delawareans will enjoy the ability to play their favourite slot titles on their mobile phones, as well as back their favourite teams. Together RSI and the Delaware Lottery are devoted to successfully delivering best-in-class products and services to our customers.”

Play’n GO is looking to make additional waves across the US’ online casino ecosystem after forming a partnership with Rush Street Interactive.

This will see the Swedish development studio, which has stressed much confidence in the appeal of its games to players in the region, supply its content suite to the operator’s BetRivers platform in Michigan and New Jersey.

Under the terms of the agreement, the igaming developer will initially provide games such as KISS: Reels of Rock, Fire Joker, and Rise of Merlin over the course of the coming months.

This will be followed by Play’n GO’s wider portfolio, including Book of Dead, with the pair also looking to extend the roll-out to additional states.

“At BetRivers, we offer our players an immersive and entertaining gaming experience, so this partnership with Play’n GO makes perfect sense for us to expand our offering to include Play’n GO’s portfolio of popular titles,” said Richard Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer, Rush Street Interactive.

“Play’n GO has an impressive game catalogue and we are thrilled to bring their innovative and top quality games to our BetRivers players. We look forward to many years of success together.”

Most recently, Play’n Go teamed-up with MADLORD in a bid to “elevate the immersion and entertainment value”, with the group also having received a Safer Gambling Standard Certification Advanced Level 2 award by GamCare for player protection efforts.

“We have always firmly believed that our games would appeal greatly to the US market and this partnership with Rush Street Interactive, one of the most experienced and trusted online operators in North America, is a great opportunity to introduce our games to that audience,” Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer, Play’n GO, said of the supplier’s latest alliance.

“Player safety comes first in everything we do at Play’n GO, and RSI’s commitment to a safe and regulated igaming industry makes them a brilliant partner for us. We’re excited to get started and further enhance the entertainment experience for BetRivers online players.”

White Hat Studios has furthered its partnership with Rush Street Interactive, delivering its complete catalogue of igaming titles to the latter’s New Jersey and Pennsylvania-facing operations.

Supplying its titles to RSI’s online casino platforms BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse, White Hat Studios will extend its reach in the US as it accesses another corner of both the Garden State and the Keystone state markets.

Developing the relationship between the two companies, White Hat and RSI have signed this deal off the back of White Hat’s US debut launch in Michigan last year, facilitated by RSI.

Andy Whitworth, CEO of White Hat Studios, commented: “We are pleased to be once again working with Rush Street Interactive in this latest capacity, having already collaborated to great success in Michigan.

“Our games performed strongly there and we hold high expectations that they will deliver similar results for Rush Street Interactive in both the Garden State and Keystone State.”

BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse’s player bases in the two northeastern states will gain access to the studio’s range of premium branded titles, in addition to ‘classic-themed hits’ that are suggested to have received commercial acclaim with RSI.

Richard Schwartz, CEO at Rush Street Interactive, added: “Offering a wide selection of leading games is a key component of our growth strategy and partnering with White Hat Studios in New Jersey and Pennsylvania will deliver some of the country’s most popular slot titles to our players.

“This follows the integration of White Hat Studios content in Michigan, which has since provided players in that state with amazing entertainment experiences.”

Bragg Gaming has expanded its presence in Ontario as well the group’s ongoing partnership with Rush Street Interactive after going live in the region alongside BetRivers.

The move, which sees RSI take a selection of its online gaming content, represents the first North American dual deployment of Bragg’s remote games server technology from both its Oryx Gaming and Spin Games divisions via a single integration.

Initially, five exclusive online titles, including Egyptian Magic from the company’s Atomic Slot Lab proprietary studio, are now available for players at the BetRivers.ca brand.

Furthermore, an additional raft of exclusive titles from proprietary and partner studios, in an initial batch of 22 games certified for the Ontario market, are expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

Richard Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer at Rush Street Interactive, said: “We’re thrilled to offer our players more best-in-class content from some of the world’s best suppliers and Bragg’s portfolio will help us do just that.

The launch of the company’s content on RSI’s online site and mobile app in Ontario expands the partnership between the companies in North America, which also includes Bragg’s supply of games to RSI in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

“We are pleased to expand our partnership with RSI, one of the premier iGaming operators in the Americas, to now include the Ontario market to take our content live on BetRivers.ca,” commented Yaniv Sherman, Chief Executive Officer for Bragg Gaming Group

Rush Street Interactive has disclosed what is dubbed as “a comprehensive partnership” with US Integrity as the sports betting and igaming operator looks to maintain the evolution of its BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse brands throughout the US and Canada.

The tech-driven group, which conducts analysis across an array of data sets in a bid to identify irregular contest-level, officiating and wagering patterns, will provide RSI with integrity monitoring services via its proprietary dashboard.

“US Integrity is proud to partner with RSI and assist as they successfully grow their brands across the US and Canadian regulated sports wagering market” commented Matthew Holt, USI’s CEO & co-founder.

“USI’s mission is to provide conflict-free, best in class insights & compliance solutions to our clients. We are looking forward to working with the exceptional team that operates BetRivers and PlaySugarHouse.

“As a partner, RSI is committed to the highest integrity standards to ensure sports betting integrity and strengthen the unique and proprietary anomaly detection tools we have developed at US Integrity.”

RSI, a partner of USI since May of last year, has subsequently expanded its alliance with the group after launching operations in the Canadian province of Ontario.

The operator, which also boasts operational sportsbooks in thirteen US states, has also reaffirmed plans of maintaining its expansion strategy into additional North American markets.

“We are excited to be working with US Integrity to independently ensure only the highest levels of athletic and sports wagering integrity as we expand our industry leading brands across the US and Canadian markets,” said Richard Schwartz, RSI’s CEO.

“USI’s commitment to maintaining integrity, as well as their proactive approach, will play a pivotal role in detecting and preventing potentially suspicious wagering activity.”

Last month, RSI reported that revenue through the year’s first quarter rose 21 per cent to $134.9m  (2021: $111.8m), however, new loss swelled from $100,000 one year ago to $52.3m, as adjusted EBITDA also grew to close the three month period at $43.4m (2021: $15.1m).

Adjusted advertising and promotions expense increased to $66.3m (2021: $40.5m) during the first quarter, with real-money monthly active users in the US up 32 per cent year-on-year to over 150,000 with average revenue per MAU dropping to $265m (2021: $302).

Rush Street Gaming has appointed Bill Keena as its new Chief Operating Officer, and Marc Arndt as its new Chief Financial Officer, subject to approvals from jurisdictional gaming boards.

Tim Drehkoff, CEO of Rush Street Gaming, noted: “Bill Keena and Marc Arndt have been part of the Rush Street family for over a decade. Their unique combination of institutional history, operational expertise, and financial acumen made them the ideal choices for COO and CFO. We’re delighted they’ve accepted these exciting new roles.”

Keena has worked for Rush Street since 2011, most recently serving for three-plus years as general manager of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, where he set new performance precedents and successfully navigated pandemic shutdowns. He has also previously worked in Harrah’s finance department.

“Rush Street Gaming has been exemplary in developing a positive Team Member culture, strong community engagements, and superior guest experiences,” stated Keena. “I’m looking forward to working alongside our tremendously talented and dedicated teams to continue their great momentum.”

Arndt also joined Rush Street in 2011, becoming the first team member to join Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, helping launch the operation and hire team members, negotiate contracts, and manage projects.

He now oversees and manages the finance functions across all gaming operations including Rush Street’s land-based casinos and their affiliated entities. He was previously the CFO of Bethesda Home, a regional acute care nursing and rehabilitation centre.

Arndt said: “I’m excited about Rush Street’s tremendous growth over the past decade and proud of the team’s many accomplishments. We have strong and thoughtful leadership across the entire enterprise. I’m looking forward to continued collaboration and even more great things ahead.”

Rush Street Interactive is also adding its online sportsbook to its existing online casino offering in West Virginia.

The BetRivers sportsbook is now available to bettors in West Virginia via the operator’s app and website. RSI has been present in the Mountain State under the BetRivers brand since it launched its online casino in the region in April last year.

RSI notes as well that both the sportsbook and online casino will share the same wallet for the customer’s convenience.

“We are excited to expand our presence in West Virginia and offer residents more ways to win with the launch of our popular BetRivers sportsbook,” commented Richard Schwartz, CEO of RSI.

“Our experience in other markets has validated that online sportsbook players also enjoy the full services of our online casinos, especially the table games. Along with offering a more enjoyable experience through our platform, at RSI we are constantly striving to provide a more trusted betting experience by emphasising usability, responsibility, and transparency.”
