Gaming blockchain CasinoCoin has inked a new agreement with Omnia Casino to launch a custom token which will power the casino’s new loyalty and rewards programme.

As part of the new launch, players will earn tokens as part of a new loyalty scheme, and will be able to spend them in a dedicated store in exchange for free spins, bonuses or branded items of the operator’s choosing.

Sam Hobcraft, founder of Omnia Group, celebrated the new launch: “Innovation is at the heart of Omnia Casino, so we are delighted to be the first major operator to move its rewards programme onto the blockchain.

“We selected CasinoCoin to power our new token because its technology is faster, more secure and more scalable than alternatives that we reviewed as part of the selection process. As the blockchain for gaming, and with a team that understands this space, they are the perfect partner and we look forward to building a long-lasting relationship.”

The new token will be fully controlled by Omnia Casino, and will facilitate nearly instantaneous transactions with lower fees. In addition to this, the new Omnia Casino rewards programme will benefit from greater automation, security and engagement.

John Caldwell, director of advocacy at the CasinoCoin Foundation, added: “Since we launched custom tokens earlier this year, we have seen forward-thinking gaming companies use the technology for very different purposes.

“Omnia Casino is the latest to find an innovative way to use our blockchain to deliver tangible, real-world benefits to its operation. By placing a custom token at the heart of its rewards programme we are able to help Omnia improve key metrics across the board, including security, automation and engagement.

“Adding a leading operator in Omnia to our network further underlines CasinoCoin’s position as the blockchain for gaming.”

Over the past few months, a number of gaming companies have struck deals to launch custom tokens on the CasinoCoin blockchain, including leading roulette manufacturer Cammegh and eGamingFund, a one-stop, licensing and distribution platform for games developers.

Eminence has teamed-up with Chimoney in a move that will add more utility to the cryptocurrency technology provider’s CasinoCoin

Lauded as taking utility to the “next level”, Eminence’s link-up with Chimoney will see CSC holders be able to purchase gift cards, such as iTunes, Amazon, and Uber Eats, as well as in-game credits in titles like FIFA, Call of Duty, and Grand Theft Auto.

“I’m so excited to see more solutions to unlock value hitting the XRP Ledger,” Daniel Keller, Chief Technology Officer at Eminence, remarked. “We’re delighted to be going live with Chimoney and to be allowing users of CasinoCoin to not only unlock value but to be able to transfer it.

“Our mission is to harness the power of blockchain and it is through breakthrough agreements such as this with Chimoney that ensure we keep working towards that goal, while also continuing to take our product and proposition to the next level.”

Chimoney, which recently launched a embedded app allowing XUMM users to purchase gift cards, airtime and mobile money with XRPL issued tokens ChiSpend, is the developer of platforms, APIs and in-app embeddable apps that enable businesses to transfer value and increase the utility of its products, tokens and projects.

The company then created an API to allow third parties, such as Eminence, to use ChiSpend in their applications and to unlock additional utility for its tokens

The CasinoCoin token has been available to purchase through a number of exchanges and is on the XRP Ledger as an issued token. Eminence’s casino lobby is offered within the XUMM wallet, which “ensures true utility” for CSC holders and users.

Uchi Uchibeke, Founder of Chimoney, added: “The value being created and earned in gaming, virtual worlds and metaverses needs to be spent by the earners. Eminence understands this and is going to great lengths to constantly add utility to CasinoCoin.

“Chimoney is making that possible and we’re looking forward to enabling earners of CasinoCoin to use their tokens for real products and services that add value to their lives.”

Cammegh, the specialist roulette wheel manufacturer, is to launch its own custom token on the CasinoCoin blockchain, after entering into a new link-up.

Becoming the first custom token to make its debut following agreement with the CasinoCoin Foundation, with more expected in the coming months, it follows the firm’s managing director Richard Cammegh joining its advisory board, becoming the first member of the non-profit with a focus on land-based gaming.

The Cammegh Token will enable the group to transmit immutable data from every spin of its roulette wheels, ensuring the validity of its data and further strengthening its products against fraud.

Cammegh said of the development: “Cammegh has always put its customers first, so moving to blockchain technology is a natural progression for us. The Cammegh Token enables us to generate huge levels of secure data, and provide the software tools and products to help our customers improve their customers’ experience, streamline operations, manage costs … the list goes on.

“CasinoCoin are the market leaders in gaming blockchain technology, so we at Cammegh are especially pleased to become the first third-party to launch a bespoke token on its blockchain”

Cammegh provides roulette wheels, integrated roulette systems and gaming digital signage to an international portfolio of customers in Las Vegas, London, Monte Carlo, Macau, Singapore, Melbourne and more.

John Caldwell, director of advocacy at the CasinoCoin Foundation, added: “We have increasingly been approached by potential partners keen to utilise our technology with their own custom tokens on the CasinoCoin blockchain.

“This gives their founders complete control over branding, token supply and their token environment, while still enabling them to leverage our best-in-class technology.

“To have secured Cammegh, one of gaming’s most trusted and innovative providers, as our first partner is fantastic, and we are certain the deal will considerably strengthen CasinoCoin as a whole.”

Online gaming operator GoodGaming is to launch a new igaming brand powered by CasinoCoin, as the firm strives to capitalise on the emerging trend of cryptocurrency gaming.

Licensed via the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, the casino is to accept deposits, wagers and withdrawals in CasinoCoin, leveraging its bankroll manager to handle KYC and AML obligations.

This allows users to play at any casino that accepts CasinoCoin with a single registration and KYC check, as well as allowing customers to deposit and withdraw from each operator instantly.

Oliver Wu, chairman at GoodGaming, said: “We are hugely excited to launch our first cryptocurrency casino and enter one of online gaming’s fastest growing verticals.

“This new brand, supported by CasinoCoin, will offer users an enhanced experience including lightning fast transactions, low fees and seamless registration.

“By working with CasinoCoin, the blockchain for gaming, we have the power to quickly scale and offer our customers a world-class user experience via the bankroll manager.”

The licensing of the new casino has been overseen by Blockchain Isle of Man, which the firm states is “setting the standard for cryptocurrency gaming regulation and use cases worldwide”.

Lyle Wraxall, CEO of Digital Isle of Man, noted: “We would like to extend our sincerest congratulations to the GoodGaming team on the launch of their first cryptocurrency casino brand and their partnership with CasinoCoin, from their home in the Isle of Man.”

“The Isle of Man prides itself on its responsible gambling measures and it is clear that CasinoCoin holds these high standards at the forefront of their offering, owing to its built-in KYC functionality and AML tracking tool, created on the blockchain, allowing GoodGaming to scale up quickly in the knowledge that they’re adhering to world-class regulatory measures.

“The Blockchain Isle of Man team wishes both parties the best of luck and continued success in the future.”

John Caldwell, director of advocacy at the CasinoCoin Foundation, added: “We have worked closely with GoodGaming and Blockchain Isle of Man to deliver a real-money cryptocurrency gaming business case within a fully compliant, KYC-ready framework.

“Our blockchain and bankroll manager are built specifically for use cases such as this, and we are certain our technology will deliver a world-class crypto gambling experience to GoodGaming’s customers.”

Antonio Zanghi, chief compliance officer of the CasinoCoin Foundation, offers CasinoBeats some insight into the role blockchain can play in compliance

After a series of high-profile missteps that resulted in multi-million pound fines, it is safe to say that compliance will be a top priority for operators in Europe’s regulated markets in 2019.

With regulators not afraid to hand down heavy punishments for compliance-related infringements, finding the right balance while delivering robust AML, KYC and responsible gaming procedures has never been more important.

One field that could deliver innovative new solutions to these challenges is blockchain. At first glance, this may not seem like the most logical place to turn when looking to bolster a compliance offering.

“There is a genuine desire and political will to bring blockchain into the regulated space

The blockchain gambling sector has become synonymous with grey markets, unregulated revenues and, in some instances, dubious practices that border on illegality. This is par for the course for many disruptive new technologies – just look at the early days of the
internet – but things are already starting to change.

There is a genuine desire and political will to bring blockchain into the regulated space. Leading the way is the Malta Gaming Authority, which kicked off 2019 by launching the first phase of its cryptocurrency sandbox framework.

The sandbox will provide operators, suppliers and the regulator itself an opportunity to test
cryptocurrency and blockchain gaming products within a safe environment. All going well, there is hope the MGA will roll out a full regulatory framework for blockchain gaming products in 2020.

Compliance 2.0

While many blockchain gaming projects have focused on quick and easy grey market revenues, others are exploring how distributed ledger technology can deliver higher standards of compliance.

Perhaps the most exciting development is the delivery of the much-vaunted single wallet. Gaming execs have pined for a single-wallet solution for years, understanding what a game-changer it would be if customers did not have to go through a series of AML and KYC checks every time they sign up with a new operator.

The blockchain has put this dream within touching distance. The CasinoCoin Bankroll Manager – think of it as a pimped-out cryptocurrency wallet – will conduct all compliance checks on the user at the wallet level.

This means that once they are cleared, they are able to deposit and withdraw instantly with any operator that accepts CasinoCoin as a payment method, without the need for further checks. All their information is safely and securely stored on the blockchain.

This is one solution for mitigating compliance risks while maintaining a seamless onboarding journey for new customers.

“The blockchain also opens up new possibilities within the realms of KYC and source-of-funds analysis

But there are other major compliance-rated upsides for those willing to embrace the blockchain. For instance, the technology allows responsible gaming features to be built in at wallet level. There has been much talk over the years of better co-operation on self-exclusion lists, but by adding such checks to the wallet rather than with a single operator, customers enjoy a greater level of protection.

There is also the possibility to implement a whole range of other features, from deposit limits to cooling off periods. The blockchain also opens up new possibilities within the realms of KYC and source-of-funds analysis.

One of the most pernicious myths around blockchain technology is that it ensures absolute anonymity for users. While certain blockchains deliver this, most are in fact either pseudo-anonymous or public, and advances in the ways blockchains are analysed mean that operators and regulators can oftentimes track the source of cryptocurrency funds easier than with fiat currency.

All this should make interesting reading for operators looking for ways to improve their compliance record without harming their user experience.

Indeed, CasinoCoin is in advanced negotiations with a tier-one operator to enter a test product into the MGA sandbox later this year.

And once there is a full crypto gambling framework rolled out in Malta, it may just raise the bar for what is expected when it comes to good compliance.

Antonio Zanghi is chief compliance officer of the CasinoCoin Foundation. CasinoCoin is a digital currency, designed specifically for the regulated online gaming industry.

AT the end of March, CasinoBeats covered the appointment of Ashish Tawakley as chief commercial officer of the CasinoCoin Foundation, a non-profit organisation supporting the cryptocurrency CasinoCoin

CasinoBeats caught up with the experienced gaming professional to ask what drew him to CasinoCoin and what the future holds for crypto in igaming.

What caused you to move from an established career in betting and gaming to cryptocurrency? It shows a lot of faith in the new project.

AT: “I have been following the growth of crypto over the last 18 months and became increasingly excited by the potential for blockchain technology application in gaming. I was keen to get involved with the right project, one that would truly add value to the gaming world.

“My background is in large gaming corporations that focus on regulated markets and work diligently to ensure the highest standards are met for responsible gaming. Until I heard about CasinoCoin, I felt the technological and commercial challenges for crypto use in gaming were too much of a barrier to entry. Things like slow transaction speeds, high transaction costs, the difficulty for non-tech-specialists to understand crypto – as well as no real-world regulated market utility – were too much of a risk for any of the projects I knew about to significantly come in and challenge the status quo.

“With CasinoCoin, while there are still the risks that come with any new and (so far) unregulated industry, I recognised the value it could bring to regulated gaming operators, and the whole industry. The coin has genuine utility and the team has a deep understanding of the regulatory needs of this market and has been working with regulators since they took on the project, ensuring everything is approved and delivered through the correct channels. This is key in my opinion.

“CasinoCoin provides a gateway for operators to reach a new player demographic and it provides regulators with the assurance that these players have undergone stringent KYC checks before they begin to play. All the above is achieved with a product that is easy to use, safe, secure, lightning fast and with extremely low fees. As a gambler, I felt it was a risk worth taking.”

So what is so special about the CasinoCoin offering?

“For me, CasinoCoin is totally unique, it’s a blockchain-powered payment solution with a custom-made blockchain designed for, and which aims to complement, the regulated online gaming industry. Its simplicity, with no desire to become an operator or platform, and its real-world utility provide the best application of blockchain technology in the online gaming space. Everything about CasinoCoin has been built with users, gaming operators, and regulators in mind. Our soon-to-launch Bankroll Manager (BRM) app features built-in KYC and AML capabilities and responsible gaming options, and provides a fully transparent and traceable payment solution.

“CasinoCoin has the experience and operating management of a much larger and more mature business but the energy, enthusiasm and tech awareness of a young start-up. There is a continuous stream of innovation and development that I am constantly amazed at and it’s not just pie-in-the-sky ideas – there have been hundreds of hours of development behind the things I am being shown. I can’t say too much but just last week I was taken through plans to unveil the first blockchain system designed specifically to be an online/offline solution for brick-and-mortar gaming casinos – it’s revolutionary, live blockchain products that actually work!”

What is it about CasinoCoin that is so appealing to operators specifically?

“The benefits already mentioned above, around transparency, speed, ease of use and cost effectiveness will be hugely appealing and advantageous to operators and users.

“On top of that, the CasinoCoin Foundation, a non-profit entity made up of gaming industry and tech veterans, is focused on harmoniously developing the use of blockchain technology in the regulated gaming industry. This means operators that integrate CasinoCoin’s blockchain-powered payment solution can utilise the experience and support of a wider team of experts who have made it their mission to progress the use of blockchain in the world of gaming.

“The operators that partner with CasinoCoin will also benefit from the Foundation’s continued development into new blockchain innovation, without the need to invest in expensive tech development teams of their own.

“Finally, they will benefit from CasinoCoin as a gateway to a new and untapped group of players, already fully vetted to stand the test of today’s regulatory requirements. This will provide a new revenue stream that, we believe, will only continue to grow in time as blockchain and cryptocurrency become more central to everyday life.”

“Due to the complex nature of crypto and blockchain, we believe initial adoption and growth will come from the cryptocurrency community.”

How important is it to have the backing of the player community when promoting such a product, and how is CasinoCoin being received?

“The CasinoCoin community has been one of the elements of the project that has impressed me the most. We have a very active and steadily growing online community that is incredibly enthusiastic and supportive. They believe in the project as much as we do and some of them have even created tools, websites and widgets that benefit the growth of CasinoCoin.

“Due to the complex nature of crypto and blockchain, we believe that initial adoption and growth of CasinoCoin will come from the cryptocurrency community. We know this to be a large and growing community where millions have already been wagered on unregulated online crypto casinos. There is a steep learning curve when it comes to understanding how all things crypto and blockchain work, and it takes time to become comfortable with all the functionality. A core cryptocurrency principle is removal of third-party trust – ‘be your own bank’. This means that the ultimate responsibility of protecting your coins and tokens lies with you. The crypto community champions this principle, is comfortable with the responsibility and understands the risk.

“We believe that, in time, crypto will become more prevalent in all our daily lives. As that happens, and to really establish CasinoCoin, we will need to to attract today’s online gaming players. We believe they will adapt to using our coin and Bankroll Manager app as they would any other type of payment. This will happen over time, and will require us to provide the necessary education to make them comfortable with the world of crypto, best practices on how to secure their coins, and on educating players of the multiple benefits that cryptocurrency holds over traditional fiat currencies including cost, security and speed.

“…crypto still has an image problem with the public, and the negative assessment is not completely unfair

“The concept of cryptocurrency still has an image problem with much of the public, and the negative assessment is not completely unfair as there are many documented cases of scams and hacks that resulted in millions of dollars being stolen. The way to remedy this again comes back to education on how to spot scams and store your coins securely, as well as technological advancement.

“We have a responsibility to do as much as we can to protect our customers, and we will continue to invest in tech development to keep CasinoCoin up with the ever-changing and evolving crypto security landscape.

“With the help of our operating partners, we believe CasinoCoin can offer a superior igaming customer experience compared to what is available today, but ultimately it will be up to the customers to decide.”

The CasinoCoin Foundation, a non-profit entity supporting the cryptocurrency CasinoCoin, has today announced the appointment of Ashish Tawakley, previously of IGT, as their Chief Commercial Officer.

With over 15 years gaming experience, Tawakley will lead commercial operations for the CasinoCoin Foundation, working closely with the Foundation’s Board of Trustees and Advisory Board. He will be involved in advancing the Foundation’s main aim of promoting the adoption and best-use practices of CasinoCoin, and will lead their business development in European regulated gambling markets.

Tawakley, commented: “I’ve been watching the crypto space develop, and I’m truly fascinated about blockchain technology and the growth of the cryptocurrency market. I realised very quickly that CasinoCoin is unique – no initial coin offering (ICO), no hyped roadmap. Instead, there is a very experienced team who have developed a suite of products that have real value and real world utility.

“CasinoCoin can be easily integrated into iGaming operator platforms, adding value by increasing the ease, speed, and flow of new players who have already passed stringent KYC compliance, onto operator platforms. What operator does not want that?”

Tawakley brings a wealth of gaming experience to CasinoCoin, with almost five years as Senior Director of Gaming at IGT, a global leader in land-based and online gaming. Prior to that he spent eight years in a variety of roles at Betfair across multiple verticals including sport, poker and casino.

He continued: “There is an untapped market of players who are invested, and passionately believe, in the utility of cryptocurrency for the long term. The iGaming market is consistently on the forefront of new technology, and I believe this pool of ‘crypto players’ will, over time, continue to grow. These players want to be able to utilise their funds in the gaming market, and CasinoCoin will drive this group of players to their operator partners. In my opinion, it is a no brainer for evolving operators.”

John Caldwell, The CasinoCoin Foundation’s Director of Advocacy, added: “We have been on the lookout for someone with deep experience in gaming, as well as both a product and business development background, which has been difficult to find. Ash ticks all the boxes and we are incredibly pleased to add him to the team. The CasinoCoin Foundation has a strong technical development team, so it’s great for us to build a more rounded line up, with Ash driving our commercial efforts.”

CasinoCoin (CSC), the open source, peer-to-peer cryptocurrency designed specifically for the regulated online gambling industry, will initiate a substantial upgrade to its current technology by moving onto a new blockchain that better positions it as the cryptocurrency of choice for users and operators.

There are several reasons behind the move to the new CasinoCoin blockchain. Liquidity of the coin will be increased from 40 million to 40 billion, allowing for greater scaling without the need to fractionalise the coin.

Additionally, the new CasinoCoin blockchain is more technologically advanced, based on the Ripple technology infrastructure which has received institutional support from many of the world’s leading banks. It features additional functionality including faster transaction times, capable of processing up to 1,000 transactions per second.

John Caldwell, Director of Advocacy for the non-profit Foundation supporting CasinoCoin growth, said: “The move to a new CasinoCoin blockchain will better position us to push forward with our goal of becoming the cryptocurrency of choice for the regulated gambling industry, and places us in line with current technology.

“The past few months have been spent putting a new team in place, raising awareness in the gambling industry and now transferring CasinoCoin to a new, more robust blockchain.

“We are confident that CasinoCoin has the team and technology in place to have a truly transformative impact on the regulated online gambling industry.”

The move to the new blockchain will be managed manually to ensure optimal security, and the transition to the new blockchain, beginning at midday GMT on November 25, 2017 and completing at midday GMT on February 14, 2018, will be executed with full transparency.

Anyone who is already in possession of CasinoCoin should visit this page to learn more about how the blockchain upgrade process will work. The CasinoCoin team will also be answering questions on Reddit and Discord.

All CasinoCoin that are moved onto the new blockchain will have their transaction IDs displayed on a web page to prove those coins were moved during the process. Those coins not moved onto the new blockchain by this date will be used by CasinoCoin’s non-profit Foundation to support continued operations, marketing and development.

Last month, the non-profit Foundation of CasinoCoin announced the appointment of several senior industry professionals to its newly-established advisory board, including Lee Fenton, CEO of Gamesys, Britt Boeskov, CPO of Kindred Group and Sam Hobcraft, CEO of OPL Gaming Group.
