Aviatrix has taken a “huge step” towards North American expansion after securing a licence in the Canadian province of Ontario.

Facilitated via BetComply, the crash game developer has been granted a gaming-related supplier licence from Ontario’s gaming regulator, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

This licence marks the first time players in North America will be able to experience Aviatrix’s crash game of the same name, signalling a ‘major milestone’ in the two-year-old game’s growth.

Anastasia Rimskaya, Chief Account Officer at Aviatrix, stated: “We committed to expanding Aviatrix’s regulated footprint, and this is another huge step. We’re already present in many markets across Europe, so it is fantastic to add a province in Canada to the list.

“We are sure that players in Ontario are going to find Aviatrix every bit as enjoyable as their counterparts elsewhere.”

Aviatrix partnered with BetComply last month, leveraging the latter’s igaming compliance services to continue expanding the reach of its crash game in new markets.

“Having BetComply at our side as we embark on a huge expansion into regulated markets around the world is priceless,” stated Anastasia Rimskaya, Chief Account Officer at Aviatrix.

“The team has unparalleled expertise, and is able not only to assist with our day-to-day processes, but also share strategic insight and best practices. We look forward to building upon this partnership as we enter new regulated markets globally.”

Crash games landed around a decade ago, bringing a unique, fast-paced format of betting to the igaming world. With innovation at its core, the genre has continuously evolved, adopting fresh themes and fusing engaging features with the classic increasing multiplier to breed new and exciting gaming experiences.

BGaming co-CPO, Yulia Alekseeva, and Evoplay CEO, Ivan Kravchuk, gave us their thoughts on the latest crash game trends, as well as how the genre can be adapted to ensure its longevity.

CasinoBeats: What are the biggest trends you’re noticing in the crash game space and how do you see them evolving?

Yulia Alekseeva: There are a number of exciting trends emerging in the crash game genre. There is a big focus on player engagement and fast-paced, high-risk gameplay. People love the thrill of watching multipliers rise in real time, making it quite the adrenaline rush. We’re also seeing more social features, like leaderboards and chat options, which create a community feel and encourage competition among players.

A great example is BGaming’s Top Eagle, where players navigate a unique bird’s-eye view while trying to open parachutes before the plane crashes. As developers continue introducing fresh themes and engaging stories, I anticipate these games will attract a wider range of players.

Ivan Kravchuk: Globally, I’ve identified two major trends in the crash game space that will shape its future. The first is the growing variety in themes and settings, while the second is the accumulation of various side mechanics that enhance multiplayer experiences.

What began a decade ago as simple gameplay – just a moving graph and a crash – has transformed into immersive, story-driven experiences with refined visuals and interactive features.

A great example from Evoplay is Goblin Run, where players can customise their characters and explore various settings, showcasing this shift in gameplay.

In addition, Adrenaline Rush: XCrash builds on these trends with a high-energy racing theme, an engaging plot, and enhanced player interaction through an in-game chat, leaderboards, and customisable options – elements that significantly elevate player engagement.

CB: How are crash games being adapted to appeal to different demographics, including a younger generation of gamers?

YA: I believe crash games are naturally suited for a younger audience because they’re fast-paced, thrilling, and can deliver big rewards in a short time. To appeal even more to younger gamers, developers are adding features like leaderboards and achievements, which create a competitive edge and enhance engagement.

It’s also crucial that crash games are mobile-friendly, as many young players prefer gaming on their phones. By streamlining user interfaces and ensuring easy-to-understand gameplay, these games become more accessible and enjoyable for casual players, making them a hit with the younger generation.

IK: When crash games first emerged, they introduced something fresh and exciting in igaming, attracting younger players seeking fresh and dynamic gameplay. Their quick social interactions, low stakes, and engaging experiences have resonated with modern players. To reach a wider audience, we continuously infuse our games with innovations that appeal to everyone who values quality.

We adapt by focusing on themes, visuals, and UX/UI design. While some players enjoy sports, others prefer cars, monsters, or animals – our portfolio reflects these diverse interests.

For example, football-themed games like Long Ball show strong retention rates, above 25%, indicating that players particularly appreciate the sports themes incorporated in crash games. Given this positive response, we plan to further develop these themes in our upcoming titles.

CB: What innovations are you working on that will ensure the genre has longevity?

YA: From my experience with BGaming and other providers, it’s clear that crash games are growing in popularity each year. To ensure our games have longevity, we focus on creating unique features that set them apart. This includes gamification and retention strategies to keep players engaged.

Before developing a new crash game, we prioritise adding dynamic, interactive elements that go beyond traditional mechanics. Additionally, we use data analytics and player feedback to tailor our games to regional preferences and player behaviour, ensuring the content stays fresh and relevant for everyone.

IK: We’re continuously refining game mechanics to keep the experience fresh and engaging. Our latest release, Adrenaline Rush: XCrash, offers an exciting racing experience with dynamic gameplay that reflects real-life racing.

Players can engage in the in-game chat, while the leaderboard enhances the competitive atmosphere. With dual-betting options, they enjoy more control and excitement, making each race feel immersive.

To sustain long-term interest, we also focus on promotional tools such as tournaments, quests, and other new initiatives across our portfolio. Together with ongoing enhancements in UX/UI, 3D graphics, and immersive design, these efforts ensure our games continue evolving and keeping the genre vibrant.

Could we eventually see crash games integrate elements from other popular casino genres, like slots or table games, to create hybrid formats?

YA: Blending crash games with features from slots or table games could enhance the overall gaming experience. This appeals to a variety of player tastes and ensures the gameplay stays dynamic.

Hybrid formats that combine features from multiple genres could be part of the future for crash games. Our industry sometimes surprises even the most pragmatic analysts.

I would not be surprised if, by the time my responses are published, a new hit with crash mechanics appears on the market. Time will tell.

IK: It’s certainly possible in our industry, as integration can take many forms. However, the key question is whether it would genuinely resonate with players and provide value to providers.

For instance, while there is potential in blending slot mechanics with skill-based elements, as we’ve done in our flagship games with manual control like Star Guardians and Adrenaline Rush, I don’t see a strong reason for hybridisation with crash games at this time.

They remain relatively new to the casino audience, have adapted well to the igaming market, and still have significant growth opportunities without merging with other genres.

Aviatrix has entered the Swedish market with its flagship crash game by securing a supplier licence for “one of the most appealing markets in Europe”.

Coming shortly after the supplier gained similar certification for the Italian market, Aviatrix has been granted a B2B licence from Sweden’s gaming regulator – Spelinspektionen

Anastasia Rimskaya, Chief Account Officer at Aviatrix, stated: “We’ve been busy over the last few months gaining the relevant licences and certifications to bring Aviatrix to regulated markets across Europe.”

Aviatrix’s crash title incorporates traditional crash mechanics into a game with ‘intuitive gameplay and innovative features’, implementing free bets, seasonal themes and customisable NFT planes to add ‘another layer to the gaming experience’.

The supplier heralded Sweden’s online casino market as “one of the most appealing in Europe”, referring to the country’s €400m in online gaming revenues achieved in Q2 2024 – the nation’s most prolific quarter since the market launched.

Rimskaya continued: “Sweden was always a high priority. We know players there appreciate games that provide something a little different, and we’re always looking to innovate. We can’t wait to see players in the country enjoying Aviatrix.”

While this move sees the igaming provider focus its attention on the European market once again, Aviatrix had pinpointed Africa as an area of growth earlier this year by supplying the title to OdiBets

Wilson G, Head of Products at OdiBets, heaped praise on Aviatrix as the firms confirmed their link up. He stated: “Aviatrix is one of the most entertaining new games we’ve seen in a long time. It combines intuitive mechanics that are easy for beginners to understand with a real depth of gameplay.

“We love the commitment of the Aviatrix team to keep the game fresh and exciting. This is just the start of a great partnership.”Aviatrix recently joined forces with Hub88 to bolster the visibility of its crash title, aiming to reach operators around the world in a global distribution deal with the aggregator.”

AC Milan has provided SPRIBE with its latest sports sponsorship deal as the Italian football club names the brand its Official Crash Game Partner.

As a result of the partnership, SPRIBE’s flagship crash game Aviator has also been named as AC Milan’s Official Crash Game.

Said to offer “new opportunities for entertainment and a closer connection to the Rossoneri world”, the sponsorship agreement is already underway with SPRIBE supporting the seven-times UEFA Champions League winners.

Maikel Oettle, Chief Commercial Officer of AC Milan, stated: “We are thrilled to welcome SPRIBE and Aviator into the Rossoneri family. This partnership is built on the ambition to connect with our fans in fresh and engaging ways.

“Together with SPRIBE, we aim to offer our supporters an experience that combines the thrill of the pitch with the excitement of gaming, reinforcing the bond between our Club and Rossoneri supporters worldwide.”

Since its launch in 2018, Aviator has garnered over 42 million monthly active players globally, making it one of the most popular crash games in the igaming industry.

David Natroshvili, CEO of SPRIBE, added: “We are pioneers in the crash game format and among the development teams forging significant marketing partnerships with organisations and sports teams, like this agreement with AC Milan.

“This partnership will help Aviator take off in the Italian market, increasing the game’s visibility among Rossoneri fans worldwide. The partnership with AC Milan, following our agreement with UFC, represents a major milestone, further establishing our presence in the sports world.”

The move sees SPRIBE continue to establish itself in the sporting world, adding to a number of sports sponsorships formed by the brand in recent months.

Towards the end of last year, SPRIBE formed an official partnership with the UFC and has since formed several partnerships with the MMA promotion’s fighters, including Johnny Walker and Merab Dvalishvili

An imminent entry into a fresh vertical, as well as bold expansion plans across jurisdictions that boast strong player demand and a mature regulatory framework, are the ultimate keys to success that are being eyed by Champion, states CEO Anton Chumel.

That was the viewpoint expressed on the showfloor of the greatest show in gaming, the Lisbon-based SBC Summit, which proved to be a popular hunting ground in being able to “open up many doors”.

Despite progressing to acknowledge an arrival within the realm of crash games before the close of the year, attention was first directed towards geographical issues in forming a solid foundation for future success.

Sights set on Eastern Europe

The riches on offer across numerous countries located in the eastern portion of the European continent forms a critical component of the gaming studio’s strategic action plan to secure a greater global market share.

A recent entry in Romania forms the foundation of this effort, however, as Chumel states that this merely forms one strand of the much larger internal ambitions possessed.

“Entering the Romanian market is a significant milestone for Champion as it solidifies our presence in Eastern Europe where the igaming industry is rapidly growing,” he says.

“Romania, being a regulated market with a large player base, offers us a platform to showcase our games to a wider audience. This move also provides us with valuable insights into player preferences in the region, enabling us to adapt our portfolio to meet local tastes”

Progress thus far has been witnessed in the shape of a Princess Casino partnership and a promise that further major Romanian players will soon follow suit. In addition, a collaboration with local streamer Stero Slots that is tasked with ramping up engagement with the country’s igaming community.

Despite these recent alignments offering a solid foothold that Champion is confident will “boost brand recognition”, Chumel assures that “future goals are to expand even further”.

A strong foundation for sustainable growth

Taking a more global outlook, Chumel highlighted one particular continent, which has proven to be a popular talking point on the industry’s agenda of late, in suggesting where Champion believes a further uplift in performance could be felt.

“We are continuously assessing new jurisdictions that provide a stable regulatory environment and a growing player base,” he states.

However, this comes alongside a certain set of parameters being identified and met. These primarily include emerging and regulated markets offering a strong foundation for sustainable growth, in addition to exhibiting player demand and a mature regulatory framework.

“Latin America stands out as an exciting region, with countries like Brazil and Argentina offering immense potential for growth,” Chumel comments.

“Additionally, we are keen to explore other regions with similar dynamics where our diverse portfolio of games can truly resonate with local audiences.

“By tailoring our offerings to fit player preferences in these regions, we believe we can establish a strong presence and make a lasting mark.”

An aggregation vs direct integration dilemma

A common conundrum encountered within the igaming space is with regards to the most optimal way for developers of all sizes to ensure that their content is placed in front of as many eyes as possible.

The rise of aggregation platforms, and the importance of the space they occupy within the wider ecosystem, has been clear for all to see. One question remains though; are we witnessing a demise of direct integrations?

For Chumel, partnerships with operators themselves, as well as via larger platforms, each remain as viable options, however, market conditions are the ultimate determining factor on which would reign supreme.

“Aggregators allow us to reach new markets quickly and with less complexity, as they provide access to multiple operators through a single integration,” he comments. “This is particularly effective in emerging or highly fragmented markets.

“However, in more mature or strategically important markets, direct integration offers more control over the user experience and ensures closer relationships with operators, allowing us to better align our offerings with player expectations.”

Reiterating his earlier point, Chumel highlights that a hybrid approach is most likely to be the path that is followed by Champion in aiming to reach and ultimately surpass its worldwide ambitions.

Consistent evolution = positive results

A consistent focus on player and partner feedback is stipulated by Chumel as being integral in ensuring that Champion’s roadmap continues to adapt to meeting the varying desires of its user base.

Whether this comprises a colour scheme, theme, overall design or one of a number of other factors, the studio’s CEO is confident of staying ahead amid a growing demand for more immersive and appealing gameplay.

“At Champion, we focus on developing games that offer unique mechanics, such as bonus buys, free spins, and engaging bonus games,” he says.

“Our development strategy includes the use of cutting-edge technologies like 3D symbols and animations, ensuring an exciting and fresh experience.

“We are also exploring crash games, such as our upcoming release, to cater to the rise of non-traditional game formats. Our goal is to maintain a balance between classic themes, like fruit and lucky sevens, and newer, trendier themes such as adventure and mythology.”

A key part of this action plan will see Champion spread its wings as the company sets a collision course with a number of developers that have been looking at one niche in particular for future growth.

An entry into the crash game vertical is intended to be made before the close of the year, when it is also hoped the Champion roadmap ramps up from one launch per month to two.

Elsewhere, Anubis Spell and Safari Ways Deluxe are a pair of titles labelled as standing out, with interested parties urged to look out for a “commitment to offering engaging, high-quality experiences”.

Jessica Inglott, Hub88 Head of Supplier Relations

The world of aggregation is becoming an increasingly complex and competitive environment. As the space becomes steadily more saturated, the expectations and demands stemming from supplier and operator partners soar to ever increasing heights.

As a result, the role of an aggregator has naturally evolved to one that is noticeably more all-encompassing. At the recent SBC Summit in Lisbon, the term ‘delivery partners’ was utilised to refer to such businesses, with tasks such as rapid content delivery, retention tools and regulatory, compliance and advisory services each referenced as necessary traits.

For Jessica Inglott, Hub88 Head of Supplier Relations, the path to ultimate success centres around correctly managing and appeasing connections. A term which became a popular reference point as the conversation progressed on a bustling showfloor during the event’s opening day.

The coastal capital city became the setting for the launch of the aptly named HubConnect. Comprising both supplier and operator zones, each of these aim to offer more data and create better reporting for partners on the group’s platform.

“Usually when we talk of client areas, it’s always operator facing. But now we have launched an area which is supplier facing,” Inglott begins.

“The service needs to be excellent. We have to make all partners happy.”

“This is the first step. No aggregator is doing this. We have listened to our suppliers. I have met a lot of my supplier partners today, and one of the first things I asked them is what do you want  from Hub88? They listed so many things, and I said ’Ah! Here you go. You can find it all in the supplier zone.’

“This just brings it back to value and connections. We want everything to be excellent. The service needs to be excellent. We have to make all partners happy.”

Adding: “It’ll be the same for operators. We already have a back office where operators can get all the information that they need, but we are upping that, we’re improving it.

“We’re going above and beyond for our operators again. This is the next step.”

Hailed as a “first-of-its-kind”, Inglott continued by adopting a strictly supplier based focus on proceedings, and the potential benefits that will come hand-in-hand with HubConnect. Data, the quantity of which aggregators possess is incredibly vast, quickly became a central focus.

“They will have visibility on all the operators that they are live with,” she says. “They will see four metrics of turnover, GGR, and actives and average bet per operator with their games for the last 12 months.

“…there’s going to be so much for them to grow, and that’s what we all want. We want to grow.”

“The insights that they are going to get, such as trend analysis, gap analysis and opportunities, there’s going to be so much for them to grow, and that’s what we all want. We want to grow.

“However, that’s just the first part. The second part is benchmarking. They’re going to be able to see where they rank versus other suppliers. And again, where the opportunities are, where they can improve and what they can do better.”

However, this goes beyond simply bearing fruit for partners on either side of the fence. Hub88 itself is sure to reap the rewards of such an introduction, and it all comes down to connectivity.

“Again, it’s all connected,” Inglott states. “We’re all in the same boat. We will benefit because suppliers will have more insights into who our clients are, so they’ll be able to better drive, better plan strategically and better promote. We all benefit.”

With there being so many providers and studios it would be unreasonable to think that you can follow up with everything. The entire industry is well aware of the sheer volume of content that is released week on week, as well as the never ending quantity versus quality debate that seems to constantly surround the topic of aggregation.

“Hub88 is entering the sweepstakes vertical, so if the supplier can offer that, that’s an added bonus.”

When it comes to the potential of agreements being set in stone, Inglott continues by offering up some insights on the discussions that ensue when adding new suppliers to Hub88. This, she says, primarily centres a number of key questions.

These include what makes a specific supplier stand out, why should certain titles be launched when contrasted to others that are proven revenue generators, markets that games have witnessed success and the range of verticals on offer.

“First and foremost, what does the supplier offer,” she comments. “Are they offering live games, crash games, slots, or sweepstakes, because that’s something which we’re pushing for at Hub88.

“Hub88 is entering the sweepstakes vertical, so if the supplier can offer that, that’s an added bonus.”

She continues: “Obviously, it is better that they correlate with Hub88’s top markets. And last but not least, what value will they bring?

“The things that I look for are connections. What connections can they give us? Is there an investment opportunity?

“We want both supplier and operator to share information. It’s just all connected.”

“Because Hub88 is part of Yolo Group it is also very big in investments. We need suppliers that bring value.”

Subsequently, this drew the conversation towards its conclusion and the topic of challenges encountered. Confronting obstacles is commonplace across all aspects of life, with aggregation certainly not immune.

When pressed on the primary difficulties faced by Hub88, and, perhaps more importantly, how these are best overcome, Inglott brought things to a close by reiterating the importance of the headline expression.

“An aggregator is working both sides of the fence,” she concludes. “We are working with operators and suppliers, so it’s all connected. It’s two sided and they’re all partners.

“I’m responsible directly for suppliers who are integrated into Hub88, but indirectly for operators. We want to make all our connections happy, but how do we do that?

“We listen to our customers. We let our partners connect with each other. We want both supplier and operator to share information. It’s just all connected.”

Following what has been billed as a transformational period as of late, Peter & Sons has set itself lofty ambitions of not just cementing its place at the global gaming table, but of rising above the competition to truly stand out from the crowd.

Ahead of the fast approaching SBC Summit in Lisbon, Commercial Director Yann Bautista spoke to CasinoBeats regarding the company’s critical landmarks to this point, strategies for fresh entry points, what’s next on the horizon and ambitions regarding the showpiece in the Portuguese capital.

CasinoBeats: To begin, could you please talk us through how the year has played out thus far for Peter & Sons, and touch on some of the key moments that have shaped 2024?

Yann Bautista: 2024 has been a transformative year for Peter & Sons, shaped by several key milestones that have significantly propelled our growth and strengthened our market presence.

Following the investment we received in 2023, we’ve been going through a strong rebranding process aimed at consolidating our brand identity. This rebranding has not only refreshed our image but also reinforced our position in the gaming industry, allowing us to better connect with both our partners and players.

A major highlight of the year has been the acquisition of our own platform, which has been a game-changer. This acquisition has enabled us to integrate directly with leading aggregators and operators, streamlining our operations and enhancing our ability to deliver content swiftly and efficiently.

With this platform, we’ve gained access to a wide range of licenses, allowing us to operate in key regulated markets such as MGA, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Ontario, Buenos Aires, and more recently, Greece and Peru. This expansion into new markets has opened up exciting opportunities for growth and revenue.

Our strategic focus on forming partnerships has also paid off. We’ve signed deals with major aggregators and operators, including industry giants like Playtech, IGT, Relax, and Light & Wonder.

These partnerships have been crucial in expanding our reach and bringing our games to a broader audience. We’ve been extremely busy with these new deals, integrating our games into various platforms, and we are now starting to see the fruits of these efforts.

To support this growth, we’ve been intensively recruiting and expanding our team, particularly in areas of production capacity and sales. This expansion is ongoing as we continue to scale our operations to meet increasing demand.

In terms of content, 2024 has been prolific. We’ve released a significant number of new titles, each one showcasing our commitment to innovation and quality. These releases have not only enriched our portfolio but have also set new benchmarks in the industry for creativity and player engagement.

In summary, 2024 has been a year of strategic growth, operational enhancement, and creative excellence for Peter & Sons, laying a strong foundation for continued success in the years to come.

CB: As more jurisdictions begin, or look, to welcome a legalised gaming ecosystem, how do you switch strategically to ensure maximum capitalisation across these numerous ecosystems?

YB: Our focus at Peter & Sons is on regulated markets, and as new jurisdictions legalise gaming, we adapt our strategy accordingly. We’re ready to move quickly when new opportunities arise, backed by a strong compliance team to manage diverse regulations and a dedicated sales team to approach each market effectively. This allows us to enter and thrive in new legal environments as they develop.

CB: With all of this in mind, what does this mean for Peter & Sons ahead of the SBC Summit in Lisbon?

YB: For Peter & Sons, the SBC Summit in Lisbon is a significant opportunity to showcase our progress in expanding into new markets and to present our latest innovations. We will be engaging with industry leaders, strengthening existing partnerships, and exploring new ones.

This summit is a perfect platform for us to demonstrate how our focus on compliance and tailored market strategies continues to position us as a key player in the global gaming industry. We welcome everyone to visit us at stand B353 to see what we’ve been working on, including our upcoming titles and exciting developments.

CB: What are the primary factors behind your participation in the Portuguese capital? And what do you hope to get out of the event?

YB: Our participation in the SBC Summit in Lisbon is primarily driven by the goal of increasing brand awareness. It’s also a key moment for us to strengthen existing relationships and open new partnerships, especially as we’ve set everything up to enter more regulated markets.

We see this event as an ideal platform to connect with industry leaders, showcase our progress, and lay the groundwork for future collaborations.

The SOFTSWISS Game Aggregator has introduced Crash Games to its tournaments tool.

As a result of the expansion, operators will be able to create mixed tournaments featuring all types of games or organise tournaments focusing on a single game type.

Tatyana Kaminskaya, Head of SOFTSWISS Game Aggregator, commented on the deal: “We have integrated crash games into tournaments, aligning with gamification and social interaction trends. Previously, crash games attracted users with their social elements.

“Now, any game can become social and even more engaging as players can compete in tournaments across different game categories. The combination of tournaments with crash games, live games, and slots is truly winning – it enhances player experience and boosts casino performance.”

Furthermore, it builds on the continued growth of the game categories that are joining the tournament tool.

SOFTSWISS also emphasised the continued surge of crash games in Latin American markets, suggesting their popularity has eclipsed that of the European market.

Games Global has gained the rights to distribute Aviatrix’s flagship crash game in a deal that will strengthen the former’s aggregation offering.

Under the terms of the agreement, Aviatrix will be added to Games Global’s PLUS aggregation platform, extending the crash game’s reach across the global igaming industry through the aggregator’s platform partners.

Mikalai Pobal, Co-founder and CBD at Aviatrix, stated: “We really respect Games Global, because like Aviatrix, they’ve very quickly assembled a great team which is driving genuine innovation in our sector. We’ll continue to focus on delivering the very best experience to our players, now with the support of Games Global. We’re going to make fantastic partners.”

Aviatrix offers players NFT-based mechanics by which players use their own personal aeroplane that flies across the screen as the crash multiplier rises. These planes can be customised and upgraded to enhance players’ personalisation.

Additionally, Aviatrix uses several design changes across the year to fit into seasonal themes and major events, such as St. Patrick’s Day and EURO 2024, allowing operators to enhance player engagement.

Andy Booth, Chief Product Officer at Games Global, added: “We constantly strive to offer operators the industry’s very best gaming content, bringing together the highest quality partner games to complement our exclusive portfolio.

“We’re thrilled to see Aviatrix take flight on our Games Global PLUS aggregation platform, elevating our third-party offering to new heights. The product really has been flying high since it launched, and we look forward to working with the Aviatrix team to ensure continued success.”
