eCOGRA has received regulatory approval to expand its services across several markets in the US and Latin America.

The igaming testing, inspection and certification services provider is now approved to provide its services in the US states of Arizona and Indiana, as well as the country of Panama.

In each region, eCOGRA can now conduct independent compliance audits and certification services for igaming companies.

“Our recent approvals in Indiana, Arizona, and Panama underline our dedication to continually expand our offering, to support our growing portfolio of clients with their global growth plans,” commented Will Shuckburgh, Group CEO of eCOGRA.

“We are committed to ensuring that we bring the same quality, speed and service that marks us out to both our clients and regulators in these dynamic markets.”

In Panama, eCOGRA has been recognised as an Authorised Entity for Compliance Certification by the country’s Board of Gaming Control, specifically for slot machines and gaming software, helping operators meet the compliance requirements of the Latin American igaming market.

For Arizona, the igaming certification specialist has been licensed as an Event Wagering Ancillary Supplier, allowing it to audit event wagering licensees in line with the Grand Canyon State’s regulations.

In Indiana, eCOGRA has been authorised to perform regulatory compliance audits to help operators meet the Hoosier State’s licensing requirements.

Bradley Khoury, Chief Technology Officer at eCOGRA, added: “Securing licensure as an Event Wagering Ancillary Supplier in Arizona and an Authorised Entity in Panama underscores our dedication to supporting responsible and sustainable igaming operations.

“We are committed to driving trust and accountability within the industry by providing compliance solutions that uphold the highest standards.”

eCOGRA is now licensed in 45 jurisdictions globally. Earlier this year in April, the igaming certification specialist was authorised by the Secretaria De Prêmios e Apostas to provide its igaming services in Brazil.

Independent testing laboratory eCOGRA has been officially authorised by the Secretaria De Prêmios e Apostas to provide its igaming testing, inspection and certification services in the country of Brazil.

With the authorisation, eCOGRA can now operate as a certifying entity for betting systems, live gaming studios and online games in the Brazilian market, expanding its igaming services in regulated markets globally.

As such, operators and developers in the country can now use eCOGRA’s services to make sure they are compliant with the country’s laws and regulations.

“We are thrilled to bring over two decades of expertise in online gambling certification to the vibrant market of Brazil,” commented Bradley Khoury, Chief Technical Officer of eCOGRA.

“This approval from the Secretaria De Prêmios e Apostas of the Brazilian Ministry of Finance is not only a testament to our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of competence and quality but also marks an exciting new chapter for eCOGRA.

“We look forward to working closely with Brazilian operators and interested parties to ensure a safe and fair gaming environment for all players.”

The approval in Brazil is a continuation of eCOGRA’s expansion across South America, as the independent testing laboratory was approved by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism in February to operate as a certification laboratory in Peru.

The organisation operates in 39 online gambling jurisdictions, including Buenos Aires City and Province, Peru, Mendoza, Colombia and Brazil in South America.

Khoury added: “Brazil offers a dynamic and rapidly growing market and we are excited to contribute to its development.

“Our goal is to ensure that Brazilian players have access to certified igaming experiences, akin to what has successfully been implemented in other highly regulated jurisdictions.”

Up until recently, Switzerland has been somewhat behind the times when it comes to gambling, writes independent business analyst Antony Wilson.

The landlocked, neutral nation – famous for excellent chocolate, superb skiing resorts and attractive international banking laws – has traditionally maintained strict rules and regulations regarding gambling, particularly when it comes to online casinos.

Little by little, the situation is changing and Switzerland is becoming an increasingly welcoming place for online casinos and is home to numerous land-based casinos as well. The regulations are gradually being reformed and liberalised, allowing for a proliferation of online casino outlets, albeit strictly licensed and supervised by a government body.

Due to these changes, there are now many places to play roulette in Switzerland, both online and at licensed casinos.

Best Swiss casinos for roulette

Switzerland is home to 21 land-based casino operations. According to Swiss law, each canton can host only one casino. Since Switzerland has a total of 26 cantons, there are five cantons that do not have a casino.

Many Swiss casinos are known for their extensive poker options, including regular tournaments and daily cash games. However, they also boast a wide range of roulette tables for customers to enjoy.

The Grand Casino Bern, located in the country’s capital, is a small but prestigious casino that offers American roulette from Sunday to Wednesday. The Grand Casino Bern also has electronic roulette and 18 TouchBet roulette stations.

Meanwhile, the Grand Casino Basel, which is famous for its staggering number of slot machines, has eight roulette tables, along with electronic roulette. The live table roulette games can be played from 2pm until 3am during the week and from 2pm until 5am on the weekends.

For lovers of English roulette, the Casino Trans Montana has three live tables open from 7pm until 4am everyday, as does the Casino Barrier Fribourg, while Casino Barrier Jura offers one live English roulette table.

Best online casinos in Switzerland for roulette

While Switzerland’s online casino industry is still in its early stages of development, having only recently been properly legalised and licensed, there are plenty of websites offering a decent selection of online roulette games, including French roulette, American roulette and European roulette.

According to roulettesites.org/switzerland/ the best roulette websites in Switzerland for RNG (random number generation) roulette games are those with an eCogra certification.

eCogra is an independent auditing company that checks the randomness and fairness of computer managed games. Unsavoury online casino outlets will certainly not be certified by eCogra and should not be trusted. Those that are eCogra certified can be trusted to provide a fair and honest gambling experience.

Casino777 is one such online casino. Casino777 is fully certified and regulated by the Swiss gambling authority. What’s more, it offers an exciting range of RNG roulette games and a generous welcome bonus, as well as a smooth, enjoyable user experience.

For players who enjoy live online casino games with a real-life dealer who you can engage with while playing, SwissCasinos offers numerous live roulette tables. Their online roulette selection includes spread bet roulette, American roulette, Italian roulette, live football roulette, and quantum roulette. At SwissCasinos players can enjoy the casino experience directly from the comfort and convenience of home.

Choosing where to play

For gamblers who enjoy roulette, Switzerland has a variety of land-based and online casino options to choose from. With casinos located in 21 of Switzerland’s 26 cantons, most residents of Switzerland will not be far from a licensed casino offering roulette games throughout the week.

And for those who prefer to play from home there is a growing selection of high-quality online casinos to choose from, including Casino777 for RNG roulette games and SwissCasinos for playing at live online roulette tables.

Kaizen Gaming heaped praise on the achievement of “another step towards its safe and responsible journey” after being awarded the eCOGRA ‘Safe and Fair Seal’.

The recently rebranded Greece-based firm is praised by ECOGRA as joining “an outstanding group of online gambling operators that have demonstrated a practical commitment to higher standards of responsible conduct, fair gaming, integrity and player service”.

The eCOGRA Safe and Fair seal, lauded as demonstrating “the importance of innovation and responsibility when it comes to responsible gaming,” is awarded to operators who comply with the London-based organisations ‘Generally Accepted Practice’ requirements.

The accreditation involves an extensive and independent audit process assessing a number of areas, from corporate governance to legal compliance and financial, system and operational controls.

The assessment covers player payments and receipts, record retention, internal security requirements, responsible gaming, player and gaming funds and IT security over player information, while special focus is placed in high risk areas, such as the processes ensuring legitimate transactions as well as responsible communication.

Shaun McCallaghan, eCOGRA chief executive, stated: “Our onsite review covering key elements of governance, information security, finance and gaming operations revealed an internal control environment that fully supports the underlying principles of eCOGRA’s generally accepted practices. We are particularly proud to have these deserving brands display the eCOGRA Safe and Fair seal.”

Kaizen Gaming currently employs over 750 employees and operates in the six countries of Greece and Cyprus with the Stoiximan brand, as well as in Germany, Romania, Portugal and Brazil, through its Betano entity.

Panagiotis Skyrlas, head of information security compliance kaizen gaming, added: “eCOGRA’s Safe and Fair seal demonstrates our highest goal; to position ourselves amongst the global leaders when it comes to safe and responsible gaming.

“We leverage cutting edge technology, we ensure the independence of our systems for optimum safety and implement processes that ensure a safe and responsible gaming environment. These are our top priorities, this is our chosen path in order to offer high quality services and products. It is our responsibility to level up our game.”

Online betting and gaming operator Betway has gained ISO 27001 certification, the worldwide standard for information security, from international testing agency eCOGRA.

Being ISO 27001-certified gives Betway the means to tighten, improve and secure third-party supplier contracts and management, as well as easing the process of applying for licences in new territories.

Betway CEO Anthony Werkman said: “We’re delighted to be awarded our ISO 27001 certification, which shows that we are going above and beyond when it comes to protecting the security of our customers’ data.

“Many of the technical standards of a Great Britain gambling licence are incorporated into ISO 27001 and we believe it is the right direction of travel for us as a responsible operator.

“Data protection and security has never been more important following the introduction of GDPR, so it is vital that companies such as us not only treat their customers’ data with the utmost care, but can demonstrate their compliance against international standards.”

Bradley Khoury, eCOGRA chief trechnical officer and a certified ISO 27001 lead auditor, said the certification now places Betway among “a limited number of online gambling organisations that have achieved this prestigious certification”.

he continued: “Online gambling regulators are increasingly recognising the value of the ISO 27001 certification, with many jurisdictions waiving certain security auditing requirements if the relevant parties are certified.

“As the only online gambling test laboratory that is accredited to offer ISO 27001 certification, eCOGRA is uniquely placed to help gambling organisations through this process,” said Khoury.

Betway currently holds licences in Great Britain, Malta, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Belgium, Germany and Ireland.

Novomatic’s interactive division, Greentube, has received the leading international information security certification ISO 27001, a process-based approach established and updated by the International Organisation for Standardisation.

Stressing that the certification confirms the firm’s “dedication to network and information security,” the announcement comes as Greentube strives to make further inroads into its strategic ambition to expand globally, as it seeks partnership contracts with operators as well as seeking licences in new territories.

It is said that “Greentube passed the certificate with flying colours” highlighted by the company’s stringent approach when it comes to business continuity management, documentation, tool usage and systematic management of sensitive data.

This latest deal follows a flurry of global agreements entered into by Greentube, in addition to allowing the company to supply its titles to the newly regulated Swiss online gaming market.

Michael Bauer, chief financial officer and chief games officer at Greentube, said of the accreditation: “When it comes to customer data there are no second chances. As a company, we take every step to ensure that we adhere to international standards.

“This certification underlines our dedication to information security and compliance, and demonstrates to our operator partners and regulators that we can be trusted handling customer information.

“The ISO certification is not only proof of our robust processes, but also allows us to enter the Swiss market where Novomatic games are particularly strong in the land-based segment. We are very much looking forward to this new market entry.”

Earlier this month Kindred Group received ISO 27001 certification for information security management by testing agency eCOGRA.

Following this move, independent testing agency eCOGRA unveiled an expansion of its services, after securing an extension of its online gambling testing and certification capabilities within Latin American markets.

Firstly Colombia’s online gambling regulator, Coljuegos, has approved eCOGRA as an independent testing laboratory, before the Buenos Aires Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos gave the green-light to test and certify online platforms and games for its market.

Firstly Colombia’s online gambling regulator, Coljuegos, has approved eCOGRA as an independent testing laboratory, before the Buenos Aires Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos gave the green-light to test and certify online platforms and games for its market.

Approvals have been received following close liaisons between eCOGRA and the licensing authorities, with a stringent review of its systems and professional capabilities undertaken by Coljuegos and the IPLyC.

Founded in 2003 to establish and improve operational standards and player safety requirements in the online gambling space, eCOGRA clients include a number of software suppliers and operators such as bet365, 888, GVC, BetVictor, Kindred, Danske Spil, 32Red, Betway, Casino Rewards Group, Paf, SBTech, Scientific Games, NetEnt, Microgaming, Relax Gaming, Quickspin, Betsson and High 5 Games.

Shaun McCallaghan, eCOGRA chief executive, commented: “Latin America is increasingly becoming an important strategic market to our clients as more countries in this region move to regulate and European markets start to mature.

“eCOGRA currently employs almost 100 highly qualified and fully trained employees who are focused on the online gambling compliance requirements of its clients.

“We continue to seek accreditation in licensing jurisdictions that are important to our clients, to ensure that they are properly reviewed and appropriately certified in their target markets.”

Last week online gaming operator Kindred Group has received ISO 27001 certification for information security management by eCOGRA.

Through meeting a number of “extensive criteria” to be awarded the standard, it is said that Kindred proved its commitment to protecting sensitive information, critical assets and consistently delivering a high-level of service for customers and employees.

The ISO 27001 standard is a process-based approach established and updated by the International Organisation for Standardisation, the developer of international standards.

The ISO 27001 standard is a process-based approach established and updated by the International Organisation for Standardisation, the developer of international standards.

As a result of implementing and following the necessary steps to comply, organisations can identify, control, and eliminate security risks, which it is hoped will ultimately certify the security practices adopted within their organisation.

Henrik Tjärnström, CEO of Kindred Group, explained: “As an online gambling group with operations spanning across the globe, we differentiate ourselves from other operators in the industry by delivering secure service for all our customers.

“We deal with sensitive player information and wanted to independently verify that our business processes are best in class. By achieving the ISO 27001 certification, Kindred has shown its commitment to the protection and security of customer data, and has all the necessary controls in place to ensure that this strict standard is implemented across technology, people and processes.

“The ISO 27001 certifications is a testament to Kindred Group’s dedication to keeping all customer and employee information secure, ensuring integrity and always available.”
