Delasport has added the Netherlands to its roster of market operations as it gains B2B certification from Gaming Laboratories International

The approval for its sports, casino and PAM offerings in the Dutch market sees the company secure permission to supply its products and services to operators in the region.

“The Dutch market is poised to become one of the most competitive in Europe, and we are excited to be part of the pioneering wave of sports, casino and PAM suppliers,” commented Delasport’s CEO, Oren Cohen Shwartz

“We are keen to play a major role in the shaping of the Dutch igaming landscape and look forward to partnering with new operators, and helping our existing partners grow.”

By entering the regulated Dutch igaming market, Delsport has stated that it will aim to deliver its casino products and sportsbook to partnership operators, which includes its complete games catalogue, personalisation features – such as geolocation and personal favourites – and gamification tools, including multiplayer tournaments, missions and badges.

This latest entry follows a number of new entries by Delasport, who in the past year alone has entered the US market with GLI 19 and 33, and the Danish, Swedish, Maltese and Romanian markets.

Delasport’s entry into the Dutch region comes off the back of a recent report the company published in May that detailed the current state of the German gambling market

The report stated that, in recent months, the largest country in the European Union has taken “significant strides” to open the online gambling market to its population of more than 83 million.

Vibra Gaming has revealed that five of its titles have gained certification approval from the Gaming Laboratories International.

The games referred to include Lucky Fruits, Make a Wish, Codex, Piggy Cash, and Quake, with Vibra noting that the approval shows the titles have “met the highest quality standards”.

“We have worked for many months to make this happen,” stated Ramiro Atucha, CEO at Vibra Gaming. “Behind each game, there is a talented team of designers, striving to make each title original and innovative, and a team of developers making sure that each piece of the game is flawless and complies with the requirements established by the most important international organisations.

“We’ve already got thirteen games approved by GLI, and we’ll keep on adding many more.”

The recent five approvals now brings Vibra’s tally to 13 certified titles overall, which include Spin Jones, Wild Gems, Clover Fantasy, Mystic Joker, Patagonia Wild and Spin Island, which are all original Vibra games, together with Popeye Slots, a licence of Popeye the Sailor, and The Phantom, a game developed based on the classic American comic.

The certification of Vibra’s titles comes after the company strengthened its position in Latin America as it partnered with Betcris earlier this year.

The launch took place simultaneously on the official Betcris website in several LatAm countries where online casinos are not prohibited and licensed to offer online games and casino options.

Argentine game and platform developer Vibra Gaming has received the approval of its RNG by Gaming Laboratories International

The certification was noted as a ‘vital step’ for Vibra’s games to be made available for distribution by operators and in jurisdictions requiring the GLI’s level of technical standards and compliance.

Following the approval, said to be a ‘through and demanding process’ by the igaming division, the GLI lab focused on the Random Number Generator of Vibra’s titles. The analysis of the RNG guarantees that drawings are reliable for any platform.

“At Vibra we are very pleased. We are a new company, made up of professionals with more than a decade of experience in the industry,” Ramiro Atucha, CEO of Vibra Gaming, said. “Our products are backed by all this expertise, and this certification proves it. It constitutes a crucial step for our growth and expansion into new markets.”

The Lottery of the City of Buenos Aires has recently authorised operators to make use of the online gaming modality, and Vibra has become the first Argentine content developer to be approved for online gaming thanks to certificate obtained from GLI.

Karen Sierra-Hughes, GLI’s vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean, added: “We are very grateful to Vibra Gaming for the trust they have placed in GLI for this important step toward their expansion in Latin America.

“The certification process led by Ramiro Atucha and Marcelo Blanco was completed successfully and quickly, assuring the compliance with the requirements set forth by the Lottery of the City of Buenos Aires.

“We appreciate the energy devoted by Vibra Gaming to allocate its resources for the purpose of accessing the jurisdiction, thus supporting the development of this new online gaming industry, as well as the efforts being made by the regulator to start the operations at a short term.”

Denmark-based Mindway AI has seen its GameScanner tool become the first responsible gambling solution to have its performance on detecting at-risk and problem gamblers tested and validated in a sample by Gaming Laboratories International.

The claims on the performance of GameScanner, which is based on artificial intelligence and neuroscience and aims to help igaming operators monitor behaviour of their customers, was tested based on a sample performed in August 2020 by GLI.

Lauded as an “important step,” claims set forth by Mindway AI about the accuracy of GameScanner identifying at-risk and problem gamblers were found to be true in the sample test by the industry testing and assessment firm.

The claims are based on GameScanner’s 24-7-365 profiling and monitoring of gamblers, one of which states that “at least 99 per cent of subjects manually assessed as potential problem gamblers are classified as either at-risk or potential problem gamblers by GameScanner.”

Furthermore, it was said that “at least 88.5 per cent of subjects manually assessed as potential problem gamblers are classified as potential problem gamblers by GameScanner.”

Implemented at igaming operator sites and platforms, GameScanner automatically monitors and analyses every event of every gambler 24-7-365, resulting in profiling of gamblers according to their risk level.

“We see it as a true milestone for Mindway’s GameScanner software to have been tested and proven in a sample test as the first problem gambling solution by GLI, who deliver world-class and highly acknowledged testing in the gaming industry,” stated Rasmus Kjaergaard, CEO at Mindway AI

“We are proud of getting the claims about GameScanner’s performance validated by an independent third party. This is another step towards raising the bar in player protection and making gambling sustainable and fun for the players at the same time.”

The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers and Gaming Laboratories International have strengthened their charitable initiatives through a $200,000 donation to the Dr Robert Hunter International Problem Gambling Center.

Done through their joint Lasting Impact Philanthropic Initiative, first unveiled earlier this year, the first gift from which went to to the Howard R Hughes College of Engineering building fund at the University of Nevada with a $500,000 contribution.

Stephanie Goodman, executive director of the Dr Robert Hunter International Problem Gaming Center, said of the donation: “We are so grateful for the incredibly generous donation that AGEM and GLI have pledged to our centre.

“The unprecedented transformation of our clients during our six-week Intensive Outpatient Program developed by Dr Rob Hunter, speaks volumes to the effectiveness of a program that combines group therapy with cognitive-behavioural therapy and science.

“Because of this generous gift from our industry partners, AGEM and GLI, this money will have a direct impact on problem gamblers in our community. Problem gambling, officially termed as a gambling disorder in the DSM-5, is recognised as an addictive disorder, alongside alcohol and drug use disorder.

“PGC is working to educate our community in an effort to remove the stigma associated with this disease while at the same time, healing the clients who commit to our program.”

The gift, committed over the next two years, has been made to highlight the importance of Responsible Gaming Education Week 2019, taking place this week.

Organised by the American Gaming Association, it marks a national push for responsible gaming education, training and awareness that includes participation from many industry stakeholders.

Lori Sayde, GLI spokesperson, commented on the joint initiative: “AGEM and GLI, through the Lasting Impact Philanthropic Initiative, support the Problem Gambling Center because its multi-pronged approach to helping individuals through evaluation, treatment and counselling, regardless of their ability to pay, is an essential service.

“We are also pleased to make this contribution as Responsible Gaming Education Week kicks off, and to join forces with the countless operators, suppliers, regulators, and organisations that are united in the fight against problem gambling and who are committed to supporting programs that help individuals affected by this disorder.”

Gaming technology company BetConstruct has taken a significant step towards seeing its live casino games being available to UK operators after the product was certified by Gaming Laboratories International.

The company’s live casino software is now likely to secure a licence from the UK Gambling Commission having met the stringent technical standards set by the regulator.

GLI is one of a select group of test houses approved to measure compliance against the Commission’s technical standards and equipment requirements.

Holding international accreditation for compliance with a range of ISO/IEC standards for technical competence in the gaming and gambling industries, GLI has tested and certified BetConstruct for both its live casino software and live studio.

This satisfies one of the BetConstruct’s strategic goals – to strengthen its position in Europe and Scandinavia through licensing in UK and Malta, as well as make new moves into Denmark, Sweden and Italy.

Speaking ahead of this week’s G2E Las Vegas, BetConstruct’s regional director for the US Jonathan Aiwazian said: “Live casino have also shown to be quite popular in the states. We look forward to displaying our live studio solution featuring real-life croupier as it presents an amazing opportunity to unearth new players and new revenues.”

The news comes after BetConstruct was shortlisted in the Innovation in Live Casino category at the inaugural CasinoBeats Awards, taking place on Tuesday, December 4, as part of the SBC Awards night.

The supplier is shortlisted in the category alongside Evolution Gaming and Ezugi.

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has become the first independent testing lab to be accredited by the Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC), to test and certify skill-based amusement machines (SBAM) in the state.

Kevin P. Mullally, GLI’s vice president of government relations and general counsel, commented: “We are extremely pleased that the Ohio Casino Control Commission voted in favour of accrediting GLI as the first independent laboratory certified to test skill-based amusement machines.

“We look forward to continuing our work with the Commission to implement the provisions of the skill-based amusement device law passed by the Ohio legislature in 2015. We are committed not only to serving the needs of the Commission but to providing suppliers of SBAMs and operators with outstanding value and customer service.”

According to the OCCC rules governing SBAM’s, before an independent testing lab is certified, it must undergo an investigation by the commission to determine its competency and qualifications to conduct such tests.

An investigation covers areas such as corporate structure, policies and procedures, experience and expertise, staffing and equipment, and demonstrated skill in conducting testing to the appropriate standards.

Represented GLI at the Commission meeting, senior engineering manager Andrew Baran, added: “We have put a lot of effort into ensuring that our team is prepared to fully meet the needs of the skill game market in Ohio. We appreciate the diligent manner the Commission is taking in ensuring testing labs are fully qualified and we are proud of the intensive effort we are putting into this project.”

Under new rules governing SBAM’s, taking effect April 23, the OCCC outlines three categories of skill-based games that fall under its jurisdiction:

  • Category A games do not enable a payer to receive a prize as a reward with the exception of free replays (e.g. pinball and arcade-style games).
  • Category B games involve a player using skill to obtain a prize wholly contained within the machine (e.g. crane and claw machines).
  • Category C games allow players to redeem tickets, vouchers, or tokens awarded from the machine to obtain a prize (e.g. games usually found at family entertainment centres and similar establishments).
