SOFTSWISS has provided support for victims of the recent flooding in Poland as part of its ongoing global charity work.

Following a recent campaign to support victims in flood-hit regions in Brazil, the igaming solutions provider has launched a similar initiative in Southern Poland, a region devastated by floods caused by Storm Boris last month.

After dozens of towns were forced to undertake urgent evacuations, SOFTSWISS has made a financial donation to Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, a Polish charity providing aid for flood victims.

The provider will also make use of its two development offices based in Poland, with SOFTSWISS employees helping to pack boxes of over 100kg of essential items, such as food, hygiene products, matches, candles and batteries.

These items were then delivered to Caritas Polska, another charitable organisation focussed on relief efforts in flood-hit areas.

“Unfortunately, natural disasters happen, and we don’t want to stand idly by. We strive to help in any way we can,” said Natalia Perkowska, Deputy Chief HR Officer at SOFTSWISS.

“This aligns with one of our core values, We See People, which applies not only to our employees. We always see the people beyond the business, and I believe our ESG initiatives reflect this.”

Reaching out to help flood victims in Poland and Brazil forms part of SOFTSWISS’ global ESG strategy. This strategy has also seen the company take part in fundraising initiatives such as World Environment Day, Pink October and Movember.

STS Group has extended an existing collaboration with BetGames to continue offering the supplier’s range of casino content in Poland.

The prolonged deal will see BetGames continue to offer its range of proprietary online casino content on STS’ Polish platform until 2026. This includes the supplier’s bespoke STS Polish Poker game, produced exclusively for the operator’s offering in its founding market.

Andreas Koeberl, CEO at BetGames, stated: “We are delighted to continue the brilliant partnership with STS. As we already look back on five successful years as exclusive partners, we are more than happy to boost it to the next level in the coming years. STS’ approach to excellence and quality is a success warranty.”

Other products within BetGames’ online casino content offering include table games such as War of Bets, Bet on Baccarat, Bet on Poker and 6+ Poker, which, according to the operator, account for a “significant proportion of STS player activity”.

Łukasz Świerk, COO at STS, added: “BetGames products have been proving themselves ever since we launched them. Players continue to return to them thanks to the innovation and intuitive play styles they offer.

“We’re thrilled that we can continue to bring our players games like the absolutely unique Polish Poker that they love.”

Another game that may also be included in the Polish agreement is Live Roulette. BetGames launched the new title earlier this year, expecting the 24/7 broadcasted live casino game to support operators with “a valuable asset in achieving their conversion goals”.

BGaming has pledged a donation of €10,000 towards developing a chess school for young people in Warsaw, Poland, hoping to “bring together friends to build communities”.

Agreeing to fund the school ahead of International Chess Day on July 20, BGaming has given the contribution to The Youth Educational Centre of the Orion Fathers in Poland’s capital.

Marina Ostrovtsova, CEO at BGaming, commented: “At BGaming, we have seen how games can bring together friends and players to build communities. It is our pleasure to continue investing in the future of young people around the world and by supporting the launch of this centre, we are sure chess will unite and inspire many of them for years to come.”

The slot supplier’s donation will go towards providing more classes and equipment to young talented chess players, with some funding also going towards organising tournaments and events to attract new demographics to the game.

Andriei Molchanov, a representative of The Youth Educational Center of the Orion Fathers, added: “By investing in the development of children today, we will have a kinder and fairer society tomorrow. The mission of helping children in difficult situations is a very necessary and important thing, and today BGaming is planting seeds of goodness so that wonderful fruits will spring up tomorrow. This is a win-win cooperation.”

BGaming’s charitable donation comes as the studio’s latest philanthropic endeavour, having donated to the A7MA Galeria Institute in Brazil earlier this year to promote art and creativity within young people.

GR8 Tech has launched a new hub in Warsaw, serving as a workspace for over 80 specialists working for the igaming platform provider in Poland.

Adding to the provider’s existing locations in Cyprus and the Czech Republic, the Warsaw location will offer employees the opportunity to work in an office-like environment if they so choose.

The brand has taken on a remote-first model since the pandemic, but has outlined an aim to continue supporting its “diverse international staff” by offering “flexible and comfortable” working conditions.

According to the igaming tech firm, the new location forms part of its “ongoing efforts to ensure that its employees have the best possible working conditions in any location they choose to work from”.

GR8 Tech announced the new location, stating: “As a company committed to a remote-first model since the pandemic, GR8 Tech continues to support its diverse international staff by offering flexible and comfortable working conditions.

“In addition to assisting in home office arrangements, the company also provides local hubs in target locations where employees are concentrated and hiring activities are underway.

“This initiative is part of GR8 Tech’s ongoing efforts to ensure that its employees have the best possible working conditions in any location they choose to work from.”

The Warsaw hub will look to serve as a convenient workspace for more than 80 specialists that are already located in Poland and all new employees joining the company.

The firm has also insisted that the space will be available to any GR8 Tech employees travelling internationally who require a professional environment to work from.

SOFTSWISS played its part in World Environment Day by launching a series of initiatives to encourage environmental sustainability around its offices in Georgia and Poland.

To celebrate the day dedicated to the environment, which took place on Wednesday June 5, several SOFTSWISS employees took part in local greening projects to enhance their cities’ ecological health.

Andrey Starovoitov, Co-CEO at SOFTSWISS, commented: “By participating in World Environment Day, we aim to draw attention to the critical importance of our planet’s health and inspire collective action among our employees and the wider community.

“Such initiatives are essential in promoting sustainability and fostering a culture of environmental consciousness within the igaming community.”

The igaming provider’s initiatives took place in Tbilisi, Georgia’s capital city, and Warsaw, Poland’s capital, with support from local authorities to ensure the campaigns aligned with existing local environmental efforts.

In Tbilisi, SOFTSWISS volunteers met at Seaside Park to plant a number of three-metre-high thujas – a green coniferous tree – while efforts in Warsaw saw employees plant ferns and root geraniums in Morskie Oko Park.

The SOFTSWISS teams managed to plant over 800 trees across both campaigns.

SOFTSWISS has launched several environmental and social campaigns in recent initiatives around the world, having recently launched a campaign to support Brazilian flood victims by allocating funds for immediate aid.

The company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Max Trafimovich, recently spoke with CasinoBeats about SOFTSWISS’ venture into the “rapidly growing market” of social casinos.

Century Casinos Co-CEOs Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger expect 2024 to be a “transitional year” for the operator as it continues to develop and expand upon its current operations and portfolio.

Haitzmann and Hoetzinger added that they expect everything the company has been working towards across last year and this year to come to fruition in 2025.

Publishing its preliminary fourth quarter results, Century Casinos is estimating $140m to $145m in net operating revenue, up in comparison to $104m in Q4 2022.

The company is expecting a net loss of $14m for the quarter, down in comparison to a net loss of $4m during the same period last year.

Haitzmann and Hoetzinger noted: “We expect 2024 to be a transitional year for the company as we continue to integrate the Nugget and Rocky Gap operations into our portfolio and complete our two large construction projects in Missouri.

“We estimate our company-wide capital expenditures, excluding the Caruthersville project that we are financing through VICI, to be approximately $46m in 2024. We look forward to 2025, when we can see everything we are working towards in 2023 and 2024 coming to fruition without the disruptions we are currently experiencing.”

After repaying the $30m revolving facility with Goldman Sachs Bank USA that Century Casinos borrowed in July 2023 in connection with the Rocky Gap acquisition, the company has “agreed to buy back $3.5m of its term loan with Goldman at 97 per cent of the cost of the debt”.

This transaction is expected to take place later this month, and the company is currently able to borrow the full amount of the revolving facility.

In Poland, Century Casinos has secured licences to reopen two casinos it had to close in October last year due to the expiration of their licences. The casino in Bielsko-Biala is expected to reopen by the end of this month, while the casino in Katowice is expected to be operational again in mid-March.

While the company’s Wroclaw casino was closed in November due to its licence expiring, a new licence has been granted. The company expects to open the casino in a new location in mid-2024.

In Missouri, Century Casinos noted that construction of the hotel in Cape Girardeau – The Riverview – and a land-based casino and hotel in Caruthersville are on time and budget.

Cape Girardeau is expected to open in the first week of April, while the Caruthersville location will be operational by the end of the year.

The Caruthersville project is being financed by VICI Properties, “inclusive of approximately $19m of cash on hand that was previously funded by VICI but has not yet been spent on the project and is included in the company’s consolidated balance sheet as of December 31, 2023”.

Century Casinos is estimating an adjusted EBITDAR for Q4 of $24m to $26m, an increase against Q4 2022’s $22m, as well as cash and cash equivalents of approximately $171m, up in comparison to the previous year’s $102m.

Haitzmann and Hoetzinger stated: “We feel comfortable with our cash position and capex plan, and we continue to look for every opportunity to reduce operating costs going forward to maximise earnings and cash flow. In addition, we are evaluating ways to reduce our non-operating costs going forward.”

Century Casino is expecting to publish its full Q4 and full year 2023 financial results on March 14.

STS has confirmed significant changes in its senior management team for the new year, with Radim Haluza becoming the new CEO while remaining as CEO of Entain CEE.

As a result, Mateusz Juroszek will take the reins as Chairman of the Supervisory Board as he strengthens the strategic development of the group.

Polish betting and gaming firm STS has united with Dimoco Payments to elevate its user experience.

Through collaborating with the Austrian mobile transactions provider, the firm is targeting a ‘significant transformation’ for Polish igaming.

Integral to the plans is enhancing carrier billing in a bid to strengthen payment innovation throughout the nationwide betting market.

Bettina Sommer, Senior Vice-President of Sales at DIMOCO Payments, commented: “With more and more people making bets on their mobile devices, allowing them to pay with them is the logical next step. With STS now offering carrier billing to its users, it cements its relevance in the igaming market.”

STS has grown to become a market leader in Polish betting and gaming, recording year-on-year revenue growth of 17% from PLN 296m (€64.5m) to PLN 346m (€75m) in its H1 2023 results.

The company looks to update its payments capabilities during a transformational period in its operating history as it is integrated into the international portfolio of global operator Entain, which acquired the firm earlier this year in a takeover worth around £750m

Mateusz Juroszek, STS CEO, added on the deal: “This partnership with DIMOCO Payments highlights our innovative spirit, which is what has consistently set us apart from other brands in Poland.

“We are a modern operator, which has built its position on the Polish market with numerous investments in technology, products based on proprietary solutions, and cooperation with leading suppliers.”

CasinoBeats Breakdown: A focus on bolstering the payment journey through a new collaboration with Dimoco can be key in helping STS continue to strengthen its thriving engagement in Poland. It also underlines that after a period of significant growth, the operator isn’t resting on its laurels and is looking to evolve the player experience.
