Design Works Gaming has maintained its momentum across both the overall and new games ranks in August’s Eilers-Fantini Online Game Performance Report, while Gaming Realms made waves to charge to top spot in the latter.

The former sees the Arizona-headquartered group take the gold in the overall charts with Flippin Rich LuckyTap, which leads the way ahead of International Game Technology’s Blackjack and Light & Wonder’s 88 Fortunes.

Top Game Ranks – Overall

This latter scooped the top spot in the slots listing, leading the way ahead of a stalwart of the rankings in Bonanza by Evolution’s Big Time Gaming and Gaming Realm’s timely Slingo Shark Week.

With the top two maintaining their dominance in the online slots breakdown, the top ten features seven unique suppliers with only Evolution (three) and DWG (two) boasting multiple appearances.

On a new game basis, tracking those titles released 180 days prior to the current reporting month, DWG’s Molten Hot 7’s and Break The Bounty LuckyTap sit in second and third behind the aforementioned Slingo Shark Week.

This Gaming Realms release, which leads the way in new slots, was developed in partnership with Warner Bros Discovery and debuted on May 31, 2022 ahead of the US’ Shark Week in July 2022 on the Discovery channel, which is lauded as “the longest-running cable television event in history”.

Molten Hot 7’s scooped its second silver in the slots table ahead of Primate King by Evolution’s Red Tiger Gaming. Nine newly tracked slots make the top 25, with DWG featuring on six occasions.

New Top Game Ranks – Slots

“Today we published the Eilers-Fantini Online Game Performance Report – August ’22,” stated Rick Eckert, managing director of slot performance and analytics at Eilers & Krejcik Gaming.

“Design Works Gaming continues to produce top performing instant win titles with Flippin Rich LuckyTap leading the segment.

“Slots were continued to be led by 88 Fortunes and Bonanza from Light & Wonder and Evolution respectively with Gaming Realms new Slingo Shark Week securing the third rank.

“IGT continued their dominance in table games and video poker, while Pixiu Gamings Lucky 8 Keno moved back to the top-ranking bingo/keno theme.”

When examining the performance of supplier’s it is Evolution that leads on total games percentage after accounting for 23.3, of which 87.1 were slots, as well as taking 28.2 per cent to total gross gaming revenue.

On a GGR basis IGT falls next in line with 23.4 per cent, however, the group sits in third in the ‘supplier mix by game category’ classification with a 15.1 per cent overall percentage, with 84.2 per cent slots.

Light & Wonder, which occupied 20.9 per cent of the igaming space with 89.9 per cent of its titles being slots, took 17.6 per cent of GGR.

Supplier summary – gross gaming revenue

Slots retained its dominant position when looking at the total games tracked with a total percentage of 90.4, ahead of table games’ 4.9 per cent, live casino with 1.9 per cent, the 1.6 per cent of video poker, and 0.7 per cent for instant win. Lottery and bingo/keno each came out with 0.2 per cent, with virtual sports a single percentage point.

Mobile maintains its frontrunning status with the highest percentage of theo win generated at 64.5 per cent leading the way in slots, table games, live casino, lottery, instant win, virtual sports and bingo/keno.

Desktop is reported as producing a theo win of 32.4 per cent and forges ahead in the video poker. Tablet lags behind with a theo win of 3.1 per cent and comes out on top in lottery.

The Eilers-Fantini report collects monthly game performance data directly from online operators to track how games perform in the region’s igaming ecosystem, with an ambition of growing the database similarly to that of its land-based game performance index.

This latest analysis examines data from Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Connecticut across 29 online casino sites, tracking 34,194 games to represent 58.5 per cent of the market in terms of gross gaming revenue.

“More suppliers of online casino content continue to enter the US market being covered in the Eilers-Fantini Online Game Performance Database with a new supplier being tracked nearly every month over the past three consecutive months,” Eckert continued.

“We now are tracking 30 unique suppliers across the 29 sites reporting data in the US with 10 unique suppliers being represented in the top 25 overall games. When compared to our latest land based report only 5 unique suppliers were represented in the top 25 core overall games.”

As a number of new igaming titles grace the CasinoBeats inbox, sit back and get to grips with a select few new slot games as we take a look at Tom Horn Gaming’s Antarctic adventure, Play’n Go’s tasty title, Red Tiger’s mystical reels and Spinomenal’s jungle journey.

PengWins – Tom Horn

Tom Horn Gaming invites players to join the PengWins family on an Antarctic adventure in this 5×3, 10-payline video slot that incorporates three different wild features and a maximum win potential of up to x1,200 the bet.

Starting with the kids expanding wild, this symbol appears during the base game. It randomly expands horizontally or vertically, covering two or three symbols on the grid. When expanded the kids symbols substitute for all other symbols to complete winning combinations.

On the other hand, father and mother wilds are jumping symbols which appear simultaneously on the first and fifth reel. Once they land, they move closer towards the centre of the grid with each spin until they connect in the middle, turning into connected father and mother wilds, locking in place to grant a respin.

Finally, the giant family wild is a 3×3 symbol which appears when the previous two wild features land next to each other during the respin mode.

“PengWins is a feature-filled title with big win potential coupled with stunning 3D graphics and animations,” remarked Ondrej Lapides, CEO at Tom Horn Gaming.

“The playful nature of the game is further enhanced by a lively soundtrack with many meticulous sound effects that make this game incredibly engaging and entertaining.

“Our mission is to bring exciting and unique content to players around the world and we believe that PengWins, with its action-packed gameplay and striking artwork, delivers on this commitment.”

Fat Frankies – Play’n Go

Play’n Go is serving players a game they can “really sink their teeth into” with this 5×3, 243-payline video slot that incorporates a maximum win potential of up to x6,000 the bet.

In the game’s burger bonanza feature, burgers will stick to the reels and reward a respin. This will continue until no more burgers land on the reels, then the prize money will pay out.

Meanwhile, the flip the tip feature sees players awarded with three coins which they flip into a tip jar. If the coin falls into the jar, it will increase the multiplier, however, if the coin doesn’t make it into the jar, the player loses that coin. Should the next coin land into the jar, the player will get that coin back on their three. This round finishes when the player reaches the maximum multiplier or loses all three coins.

Play’n Go’s Head of Games, Charlotte Miliziano, said: “Fat Frankie’s is the tastiest game in town. We’re in the business of entertainment and this narrative really lends itself to the four features.

“It’s cool to see how Frankie starts out to where he finishes by the end of the game with the player helping him on the road to success. Trust us, it was as much fun to make as it is to play. Players will be hungry for more.”

Genie Nights – Red Tiger

Red Tiger invites its players to take a ride on a flying carpet and rub the magic lamp in its 3×3, five-payline video slot that incorporates a maximum win potential of over x975 the bet.

The slot incorporates respins, a magic lamp bonus, wish, great and mega wish spins and a nudge mechanic.

In the game, the respins feature is triggered by landing three respins symbols in a payline. Here, up to four respins may occur consecutively, each one with an increased chance of landing another respins or wish bonus. On the final respin, only respin, wish or great wish symbols appear.

Meanwhile, the magic lamp bonus is activated when a 3×3 magic lamp bonus symbol lands in the base game. This triggers the magic draw, offering players the chance to instantly win between x5 and x50 their stake or trigger one of the three wish bonuses.

Lost Jungle –  Spinomenal

Players rejoin Lucky Jack deep in the jungle where he’s on the hunt for golden treasures beneath the canopy in this 5×3, 10-payline video slot that incorporates a maximum win potential of up to x500 the bet.

Incorporating a bonus feature, this is triggered once three or more bonus wheel symbols are revealed on the screen.

Here, players are initially awarded with three spins of the first of three wheel levels where there is the opportunity to win multipliers, extra spins or a chance to progress to the next wheel level. The wheel returns improve incrementally as players move between the three levels.

“Players will love this follow up release from our Lucky Jack series that continues an archeological adventure hunting for ancient golden treasures,” commented Spinomenal’s CTO, Omer Henya. “Lost Jungle has two awesome features that make this a game for the ages.”

The CasinoCoin Foundation, a non-profit entity supporting the cryptocurrency CasinoCoin, is striving to enhance its compliance efforts with the appointment of ex-IGT and Yahoo! specialist Antonio Zanghi.

Joining in the newly created role of chief compliance officer, Zanghi is to oversee a technical compliance solution as part of the CasinoCoin blockchain, that is designed to “provide partner operators with complete peace of mind”.

John Caldwell, CasinoCoin Foundation director of advocacy, said of the appointment: “Compliance has never been more critical in the gaming industry than it is today, as we continue to see heavy fines levied on operators for infractions.

“This is why we are delighted to welcome Antonio to the team. His years of experience in this field at the likes of IGT, Yahoo! and Red Tiger Gaming will prove invaluable, as we build the most robust regulatory infrastructure in the sector.

“It has always been the aim of CasinoCoin to go above and beyond on the issue of compliance. Our single wallet solution will not only offer stronger protections and greater transparency to operators and regulators, it will also simplify the on-boarding process for players.”

Via the new hire, Zanghi becomes the second former IGT staff member to join the CasinoCoin Foundation roster this year, following on from the appointment of Ashish Tawakley as chief commercial officer in March.

Regarding his new role, Zanghi commented: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the CasinoCoin team. I have worked in compliance for many years now, and I have never been so impressed by the ambition laid out by John and his colleagues.

“By leveraging blockchain technology, it is possible to achieve things not before possible in the field. This is an utterly transformative approach to KYC, AML and responsible gaming that will raise the bar for what is expected of operators across the industry.”

NetEnt has entered into an agreement to purchase online casino software supplier Red Tiger for an initial £200m, with a potential additional cash consideration of £23m.

The all-cash transaction is to be finalised imminently, and falls in line with the casino content developer’s vision “to create the future of gaming”.

NetEnt is to pay approximately £197m for all Red Tiger shares, with the remaining sum potentially becoming payable in 2022 based upon an earn-out basis, subject to financial performance over the coming two years.

This corresponds to a multiple of approximately 12 times current year EBITDA, with NetEnt’s income for the third quarter of 2019 set to include approximately SEK 55m (£4.6m) of transaction and financing related costs.

Therese Hillman, group CEO of NetEnt, said of the acquisition: “I am very pleased to welcome Red Tiger into the NetEnt Group. The acquisition combines two of the leading and most innovative companies in the online gaming industry.

“We look forward to working with Red Tiger’s fantastic team to enhance our combined global reach, and to offer further value to operators and players. The transaction will provide significant revenue synergies across our markets worldwide.”

Established five years ago, Red Tiger, which boasts operations across Malta, Isle of Man and Bulgaria, is expected to reach EBITDA of £18m for this year.

Via the purchase NetEnt is striving to utilise the opportunity to capitalise on its scalable technology to support future growth.

Gavin Hamilton, CEO of Red Tiger, commented: “This is an exciting new stage of the Red Tiger story and we are delighted to become part of the NetEnt group. Accessing NetEnt’s unparalleled distribution network and geographic footprint will unlock new opportunities for Red Tiger, and will further accelerate our growth.

“At Red Tiger we’ll remain focused as always on driving further innovation, and we are looking forward to working with NetEnt on how to leverage our combined capabilities to create new products that wow our customers.”

Online casino software supplier Red Tiger Gaming has deepened its Swiss footprint, after launching its titles with the Grand Casino Lucerne.

Making its initial moves on the property’s mycasino.ch portal, it follows the firm debuting in the country earlier this month alongside the Grand Casino Baden, which introduced the first igaming entity under the country’s new regulatory framework.

Only four land-based establishments have obtained an online licence for the re-regulated Swiss gaming market, with Baden and Lucerne joined by Davos and Pfäffikon.

Wolfgang Bliem, chief executive officer at Grand Casino Luzern, said of the agreement: “Red Tiger’s games have been gathering fans around Europe for some time now and it is a real coup to have access to them.

“Its most recent titles in particular are proving to be real hits, so we can’t wait to see what else they have in store, and are excited to offer their games on mycasino.ch.”

Having certified 30 of its most popular games in the territory, Red Tiger is now up and running with two of the first four operators to go live in the newly regulated online market.

Under the terms of the new deal mycasino.ch players will have access to a number of Red Tiger titles, including Pirates’ Plenty, Mystery Reels and the more recent Jack in a Pot.

Chris Looney, commercial director at Red Tiger, noted: “We are delighted to be launching with Grand Casino Luzern and are looking forward to introducing a host of new players to our titles.

“Red Tiger is always looking to expand in exciting new markets such as Switzerland, and we’re proud to partner with a well-known, reputable brand and look forward to our future there.”

Red Tiger became the latest addition by Grand Casino Lucerne, after it welcomed Åland Islands-based gaming operator Paf to the Swiss igaming market last week.

The casino software supplier has launched a selection of its portfolio via jackpots.ch, with the first online casino in Switzerland powered by the Gamanza platform.

Marcel Tobler, online casino leader at Grand Casino Baden, gave an insight into the new partnership: “Red Tiger’s games have really impressed us, and we are delighted to be the first operator in Switzerland to have access to them.

“It’s an exciting time for everyone in the market and having internationally renowned and commercially proven games in our arsenal is a real boost at launch.”

Red Tiger has initially released 19 games with Grand Casino Baden’s online site, which was run as a social casino but has now pivoted to real money gaming following new regulation.

Players will have access to Red Tiger titles, including Mystery Reels and Dragon’s Fire, as well as the firm’s “hugely popular” Pirates’ Plenty.
